" Exactly. Yes ofc the hotfixes and QoL changes and additional content is more than welcomed and ofc are an improvement. But the overall design direction with the extreme nerfs and kills to endgame items to slow down all builds so every map takes 15 minutes and every campaign run takes 20h is a basic design flaw in a live service game with seasonal mechanics where players are supposed to replay content with 2-8 characters per season and grind hundreds of maps with each of them. Most ppl will not go through that process if its so slow and hence will stop after playing 1-2 characters per season through the campaign. Thus, the game will not be able to sustain itself for years if replaying the campaign multiple dozen times and grind hundreds of maps in the endgame is not possible to do efficiently and repeatedly. But thats what keeps ARPGs alive for years: The ppl grinding hundreds of hours per season, creating multiple characters and playing several hundred hours. Not the ppl playing slow and enjoying the campaign with one character and then stopping and playing another game. Simple as that. |

" Stop justifying everything with “it's only EA.” I've seen plenty of Early Access games that were actually playable. Even version 0.1 felt rough but promising. But nah — GGG looked at that tiny spark of hope and said, "Let's kill everything what was fun" It reminds me of Dungeonborne — also EA, also started out exciting and fun. And then the devs decided to smother it by overnerfing everything into oblivion. They ended up with a game that basically had one viable class. And now game is dead with 0 online. Sound familiar? Because that's exactly what happening to PoE 2 right now. Back in 0.1, we had 3–4 OP builds spread across different classes and mechanics, a decent number of solid A-tier builds, and a bunch of mediocre but playable ones. Now? We have two OP builds — both spear-based. Maybe 4–5 mediocre ones that can still run maps. The rest? Completely broken, unplayable gimmicks. They litteraly made unplayable almost classes. And it's in "build diversity game". And let’s talk loot. In 0.1, endgame drops included stuff like Metamorphosis, Temporalis, Prism of Belief, Adorned, etc. In 0.2? We've got 12 sockets left, Adorned is useless, Time-Lost is gutted and basically unusable, and Metamorphosis is a literal trash. Back then, I’d get 3–6 exalts from a single map. One divine every 10 maps or so — enough to actually craft, to juice maps. Now? 1–2 exalts from a fully juiced map — if I’m lucky. So many games have been completely ruined by dumb decisions during Early Access. By the time they actually released, they were already dead on arrival — and ended up being interesting to maybe one and a half people at best. No matter how you spin it, PoE 2 is an online game. And without a player base, it's dead. And to those of you constantly defending Jonathan’s stubborn and tone-deaf decisions — you clearly don’t get it. When the active player count drops to 1,500, you won’t be playing either. --- now i see how LE shines with WASD input and decent endgame, which has endgame loot to improve builds. Most people like the compaign but even this will be awful after the first couple of chars. I would test other classes and ascendancy but I have no mood to play 20h to the point to like or dislike the class.

Ther was a comment during one of the WORST POE1 leagues like Archnemesis on reddit which pretty much sums up this MESS. It went along the lines of :
"GGG made the best ARPG purely by accident" Their main Chief Chris Wilson absolutely hated POE1's direction of where the development was heading, mainly to zoom zoom. But he repeatedly mentioned that he didn't want to change the main game - mainly due to backlash reasons. And oh boy he was so right. So then he created the perfect game for hiom: ruthless for POE1 and when he saw nobody was interestered he quietly quit GGG. Now for NO FOKING REASON we have RUTHLESS POE2. This is just sad.
