For me Poe 2 is in a disgraceful state.

I don't like stressing games. Here it's all struggles and no relief.

Defences are SHIT, you can't beat dificulty - it is ALWAYS there, exp loss is ALWAYS there, 1 portal is ALWAYS there... game is retarded (yes please REDACT this word as my last time, retarded mods).


It's funny, I think this game has altered my perception of other games and their expected difficulty. Now when I play a new game I expect it to hit me hard with absurdly unforgiving mechanics and it takes me a while to remember almost every other developer is also interested in their players having fun, and then I can relax again. It doesn't help that so much combat these days is very Dark Souls-esque.

I played some souls game, God of War and alikes. There's always things that mixes difficulties with rewards, also phases where the game give players some reliefs - like bonus stages, "free" power stuff and other things that entertain us instead of just pushing, and pushing and pushing people around.

- Fucking stupid Temporal Chains curse, non-mitigating
- Fucking ignited grounds
- Fucking non-dacaying heavy stun while mounted
- Fucking random one-shots everywhere, cause defenses are shit (again)

and again...

- Fucking exp loss
- Fucking 1 portal on better maps
- Fucking disgraced and awful VISION.

What are you talking about?

It's blue? Mana is blue. ES is white (with a small drop of blue).

Btw, it was already mentioned in the list. Anyway.

Generally, "Energy Shield" is not considered a "defence"; it's a "hit pool" that builds the foundation where you apply defences to deal with stuff.

But let's amuse ourselves a little bit.

Does it act like health? No.
If you have some sort of life recovery, you will regain life (via regen/leech/etc.) even if you take damage.
So, in theory, if you take 1000 damage every second for, idk... a minute, but would recover 1001 life per second, you would not die.

Even if you have a faster ES recharge rate and faster start of recharge, if you take 1000 damage every second for the same amount of time, you could have an ES recovery of 10000000 per second, you will die because your recharge will be interrupted every time you take damage. Sure, you can use the new gem to recharge your ES in that time ONCE, but then it's on cooldown and you die shortly after.

Does it help you against stun? Yes and no.
Stun threshold is based on "Life" by default. So, if you go "Chaos Inoculation", you have no stun threshold. To gain a stun threshold, you have to invest many nodes on the passive tree to get a decent amount.
Except for "Dampening Shield", not a single one is an ES/stun threshold hybrid node, but instead, just pure stun threshold. That's a huge power trade.

How much physical damage do I take with 5k ES, 10k ES, 20k ES? The same?

How many attacks can I block with it? None?

ES increases your Ehp just like other defenses do. It is still a defense in the form of temporary hitpoints. If you prefer not to call it "defense", whatever, but it gets the job done same way as other defense, by definition of ehp. Performs better against some damage types like other defense.

And you can recharge it repeatedly by spending a support gem to recharge on light stun. Works good if your RMB skill is a channeling. Works especially good if you get unique chest with +1000% recharge rate, since its downside of 10sec native recharge delay won't apply to you between convalescence and recharge on stun.

This is what happens when devs don’t play their own game.

What’s the point of Acts if you get zero currency drops to craft gear or build a character through the campaign? just let us do maps from lvl 1

instead of the bland story that noone cares about just make it a tower climber with each room having its own map, mechanics and hidden stuff.

Why is it even online? No events, no progress gate locks, no limited-time dungeons. Just chat. Might as well make it offline and leave trading on a separate server—would fix all the server issues.

Most items are trash with garbage stats. Like Silvertongue Zealot Bow—forks projectiles on hit? Cool, now all of the bow skills just bounce off enemies and wreck the walls behind them or fly to china.. Did anyone even test it before implementing?

No skill customization. New players level up, get hyped for a new skill... just to find out it’s worse than basic attacks.

Still no QoL stuff like sort button or auto-deposit to tabs.

I rushed the campaign on warrior, tried making dual wield work with two clubs. Nothing did. Ended up spamming basic attack as it was the only usable skill. Eventually had to switch to meta huntress.

Melee feels weak and frustrating to play compared to ranged options that do exactly the same thing and even better.

If Path of Exile 1 is so great, why don't you just stick with it? Coming here just to insult? I understand to provide actual feedback, and some things that should be done and, potentially, to express a way in how those things should be added to the game, but you are just saying random offensive words, not really helping.

Build diversity is a problem in PoE1 as well, in case you are not aware, same thing that happens there, happens in PoE2 as well, there will always be a limited amount of builds who are at the top, and others a bit worse in comparison. But that's good, having all builds same level of power is very boring, there need to be some differences.

Your statement about not being able to "abuse" overpowered items, mechanics anymore due to nerfs is comical, I will give you that.

Try to propose a valid implementation that you think will make, let's say, 90% of the players that play currently, happy. Are you able to do that? Of course, take into account the manners.
