Losing way too much exp on death in end game
" It's only excessive if you can't mitigate dying non stop. Have you ever considered that if you are constantly taking "10 steps back', that there might be a problem with your build for the content you are trying to play? The exp penalty is 100% fine as it is. The game doesn't need to baby you. Last edited by Nubman#6211 on Apr 13, 2025, 6:43:01 PM

Is it still just 1 portal per end game map or whatever?

I've been using an Omen that keeps 75% exp on death. I'm level 94 and it was about 2-3 weeks going from 93-94 before I realized I could use that omen. I run T15 Juiced maps with combination of distilled Guilt and Isolation and was able to run them fine until last update (still can kinda but hard). It is taking even longer now to run maps that aren't as juiced. Even with the omen you still lose 25% of the 20% you would normally lose, but it still, has helped.

Nubman, I did readjust my build. I was able to makes certain things better by some assistance online, but it was quite hard. I'm sure you have read many of the peoples complaints about this. However, if everyone has to go with all the same meta builds, this can get quite boring. So its an issue with both builds and excessive EXP loss for many of the fans. People want to play on their own builds and not have to tweak to a 'standard' endgame build that one has to follow on youtube.

hi guys.
i belive that 10% of xp lost because you die is too much. so i think if they do a countdown, like your level, it's the loss of XP. In our case, the higher the level, the lower the penalty. I have a level 94 Toon. I played almost 13 hours straight today. For each XP bar, there are 5 maps. I died once. All the XP I collected today was lost in one coup. It's a very stupid and arbitrary way to punish the player with 10% of the XP they earned. I decided not to level up anymore, since the XP rate is poor. The game doesn't provide enough resources to keep the Toon alive. The passive tree is garbage. There are no appropriate spots to place jewels with lightning to increase defenses. They released a new patch without Grim Feast. 90% of the players stopped leveling up because the Toons are very vulnerable. |

" It's not really about having a meta build though. Dying can be made far easier to avoid by simply calling your res, having a decent life pool, and secondary defence layer. Any build can do this. Having a meta build simply makes the mob killing side of the equation faster. |

" So let me get this straight - last season everyone admitted straight up that grim feast was incredibly busted, and everyone knew it would get nerfed hard. But now that we don't have grim feast, the game is too hard? Sounds like you were just relying on a busted mechanic. |

You can grind previous tiers but that means NOTHING of value drops. The items that drop in tier 1 - 8 have zero effect and are completely useless in anything past that. I have over 100 hours in maps and nothing of any value ever drops. I have yet to get a single drop of any value during maps. Not even one item. They now made drops even more rare and when they do, their stats are ridiculously dumb. So no, what you just suggested makes no sense

" Fun fact - the best "non-boss drop specific" uniques, as well as divines and mirrors, all drop in every tier map. Rares can drop with almost top tier rolls. You guys are absolutely grasping at straws to prove a point. But hey, at least you are making it incredibly clear that you don't have a clue what you are talking about! |
