Dawn of the Hunt - What We’re Working On
For what it's worth... I like the game, I like the new character, and I like starting fresh. Yes, it feels slow at first but it felt that way when the game first released with every character. I could go full rant on all the super negative non-constructive posts but I don't have the energy to spend on that.

Tried the game again after your 'fixes' and... nope ... the game is still in a very bad shape.
Gonna quit for now. Will return when the new league of PoE1 will be launched... chances are quite high that Jonathan and Mark will destroy PoE1 too :( Long Live the Templars !!!!

Look at the Azak Bog, which is so massive you can't even fit the entire map on the screen, and tell me what possible game mechanic necessitates such a large, unending space. As with every other zone, there is nothing 'interesting' there, there is nothing requiring it being that large. No rare treasures at dead ends, just endless walking simulator trying to find the boss that could be anywhere. And this is a prime example of...oh I don't know...almost every campaign zone.
The only possible reason maps would be this large is to make the campaign take longer. That's it. There's no game/lore reason for maps this huge, especially on painful, narrow-pathway maps like Azak Bog and the Dreadnaught. |

I really tried to enjoy the game. My first character was a Huntress. It's just sucks. I stuck in Act2. Gave up. Tried a warrior. Leveling with it feels terrible. I just can't start a leveling again. It's painful. I love PoE1. I played it more the 7k hours. But PoE2 is in terrible state. I can't imagine to do this kind of leveling in every new leauge. No way. I give up PoE2. It's not for me.
I hope we will get new contenct to PoE1 soon. Enjoy if you can. But i have the feeling player numbers will drop sharply. For new players I think its even worse. I dont know how can GGG think this game will attract a wider audience. It's a mess without proper loot. I can't even progress. If somebody has unlimited time to play and willing to do 20+ hours story grind it's possible. But i dont think the majority of casual players want to do that. Good luck with the vision. |

It makes me sad how GGG went from the MOST amazing devs who listened to their community to another narcissistic dev team who are like, "actually this is OUR game and you will play it how WE want and if you don't like it then it's YOUR FAULT."
Your game is on fire. Buff something. Buff anything. No exaggeration, 90-95% of the current skills in the game do LITERALLY NOTHING. You nerfed skills that NOBODY was using. GGG literally saw Flamestrike and was like "Oh, 0.000001% of our player base is trying to have fun using this ability, we should reduce that to 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% that's more in line with our vision." This is insane. |

Game isn't that hard, unless you're super unlucky with drops or your build does not make sense at all. Yes, very early stages are slow mostly because of movement speed and a map size that is a little bit too large, but it does not warrant this laughable mental breakdown of people addicted to dopamine. Turn tiktok or some other braindead thing on second monitor as a substitute. If you're stuck in acts then it's a skill issue not a game problem.

" I agree with most of this, just not the shrink pack size... if your gonna claim this make sure you say in campaign only. can you imagine mapping at t15 with half the adds... A lot of this could be solved with giving us some speed, both movement and action speed, little more damage(us not the adds) and not have the hole map respawn if we die, OR not have the little loot despawn on death. I get distracted on my post, I just wanted to say make sure you specify campaign for the pack sizes, it is GGG they make take what you say to heart and have a huge map with 12 adds and 5 elites lol |

The difficulty of bosses and monsters are on PAR now, hopefully future changes help. But the crappy loot drops has to be fixed. Why would I want to keep playing when loot is far and in between (60% MF and still getting magic only on boss drops), and gear is far below monster/character level. LOOT needs to be fixed for progression.

It's just a frustratingly difficult experience to play this game. You can push through it, it gets better in maps, but asking players to complete a 20-30 hour campaign every ladder reset is too much. Not to mention rerolling a new build.
Both ascension trials still suck and are riddled with RNG. Honor mechanic is bad and has no business as a core game mechanic. The chaos trial has debilitating debuffs, but at least it is a better aligned with the core game play. You also can't really just pick one or the other as the game chooses for you based on drops. So if your build can't handle the honor mechanic and you keep getting baryas your kinda just screwed. There are some other fundamental issues with builds design. Attribute pressure and reliance on pre-defined combo's limits creativity, it doesn't feel like there are many options for builds, we don't see a lot of wacky builds like PoE 1 everything is pre-defined by class and weapon type. A lot of support gems are just bad and there are several times where I would rather not socket a support to keep my mana cost lower. This applies to non-primary skills because we're limited to 1 unique support gem the pool of viable supports for my secondary skills grows smaller. This design incentivizes "1 button" build gameplay which is the opposite of what they're trying to achieve? |
