Sadly the promise of supporting and developing both games in parallel cannot exist, you would need to include more developers to the team and have them as a flexi group that can assist with either project. Certainly it is dissapointing. I liked POE, I played it once a year maybe but it was the game I would fire up if I was going through a difficult time especially (from college to irl problems etc) it would definately help, it is sad to see this happen to it but no surprise. As someone who played poe 2 and killed the uber bosses on +4, the game sucks, it really does, maybe for casual fools it doesn't but for anyone that played poe1 on a semi-high level it does. i see the people who talk in favour of ggg or poe 2 mainly have accounts that either have no challenges, or characters that are basically completely worthless and never even got to the true endgame of poe1, so they like poe2 because it suits their simple brains, i understand that. still, GGG has messed up, this is like them admitting that they are gonna sunset the game that has financed their new golden goose which is hated by the actual fanbase that supported poe1. and when i talk about poe 1 endgame i talk about builds like this: https://pobb.in/UqekjPFq2Zyg not average joe with their shitty barely able to run t16 builds running on hopes and dreams like we dreamt of having poe 1 continue. all in all this is probably the most disappointing failure in judgment from GGG ever and is equivalent to Blizzard.
