A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

"An aspirant can afford to be promising. An emperor must keep those promises."

So

In one hand, the great balanced game, fun, with tons of mechanics and builds don't get any update in almost a year.

And in the meantime, the EA game who only got nerfs in 2 month and not a single great QOL update, no dopamine shot, terrible maps, terrible maps system is getting all the attention.

We, as a player don't want that.

We want POE1 new league.

As someone said early on, used to place GGG in my heart for years, prolly time to move on

It's so sad that the people who FUNDED Path of Exile 2 are getting fcked over now. Really shooting yourself in the leg with this.

I hope you don't expect to release a single PoE1 league in 2025 and then complain about not enough revenue / saying it's not profitable anymore. Because
you just destroyed pretty much 99% of the trust we had in your promises.

At this point, I won't be buying anything from you this year. It hurts because I am collecting art books and would've loved to own the PoE2 artbook, but holy damn am I not on board supporting this crap strategy you are driving.

Right now, you are developing for your shareholders/Tencent and your own vision, not for the people who made all of this possible.

It's been refreshing to try a "new" game with PoE2. I miss PoE1 as well and a delay like this is unfortunate.
That said, nobody can predict the future and I trust in the studio to make the best decisions given the information available.
You can always look at things in retrospect and identify things you would have done differently. That's called learning from your mistakes and should be allowed for all as long as you had the best intentions with your actions.

Come on guys! We must give GGG a break.

These guys have consistently delivered for us in POE 1 for years and years, bringing regular quality expansions to us in a timely manner! I do think we have been very spoiled and now we are so used to it that we fully expect them to keep delivering at this rate without a hitch. Even while they develop and release a brand new game that is honestly awesome content once again!

If over these long years you have played and loved POE 1 and everything these guys have developed for us, now is the time to show them some support and understanding while they come to grips with how to juggle these two games simultaneously.

Since the release of POE 1 GGG have shown nothing but competence and great work ethic, giving the whole ARPG genre a new standard of content delivery that can hardly be matched by other companies.

I for one fully trust and expect them to find their way back to delivering content for both games in the same sort of time frame they have always done for POE 1.

"Transparency" in this case is just another word for "broken promises".

People calling it "transparency" when they knew for over half a year that noone did a single thing for the next league, dodging the question in the interview and waiting until the last possible moment to post an update. Yeah, no.

To play a game like POE without the believe that this game has a future and still gets love and attention from the devs is hardly possible.

GGG took the brave decision to dismiss an established and brilliant game, best in class, wth an enthusiastic and loyal fan base, in favor of a buggy version of something similar, hampered by serious technical problems. They sold EA and cashed in so much that there is no way back. All that is left for them to protect the old cash cow is to reiterate again and again 'we are still fully comitted to POE1, but ...'

This was easily predictable from the start. You can tell players your devs will be able to handle both games at the same time but there are too many factors to make this work and that's what ended up happening.

PoE 2 is slow, boring and not fun. I think you can legitimately fix it as much as you want but it won't change anything because the core of it is slow and lacks too much of what made PoE 1 great. It's basically Ruthless mode with a new campaign and better graphics.

I really had hopes for PoE 2 to be a good game but it was just disappointing. Now PoE 1 releases have to suffer because of this game. Horrible.

So the message on POE 1, is that there is no update? Not sure, why you needed 4 minutes to make excuses, just to say you dont have any news or update of POE 1.

This is getting old real quick.
