A Message to Path of Exile 1 Players

It really shame to see such answer for all the support players gave to devs for all those years... is just a lies for half a year in those interviews, in podcasts and so on... It's truly sad...

I am disappointed. I am burnt out of PoE 2 and playing PoE 1 HCSSF right now as a softcore trade andy and actually enjoying it because PoE 1 does so many things just right.

Please give us a timeline for content to come, even if it's worst case and you finish 1 month early, just something other than "sorry, please wait".
maybe it's better to admit that you're not a competent enough leader and take action about it. You've made a frankly bad second part that you don't want to play, and you're steadily making the first part worse. Think about it.
They literally got billions from PoE2 yet they dont recruit new devs to run 2 games at once. That's some next level of greed i cant even understand.
They send Jonathan to tell us the bad news always, where is Chris to tell us the bad news? Poor Jonathan is the Mouth of Sauron or what?

Jonathan,

I appreciate the video and the honesty. But I do not appreciate the excuses about time and resource restrictions.

I have no clue how your customer service support will handle two games given the overwhelming amount of tickets that were caused by PoE2 without massively expanding the company. It is not enough to hire customer service people but you also need much more developers and you are screwing yourself out of good talent with your strict policies on developer employment. There are enough developers out there good enough to work remotely for you which would have avoided all these problems and I am sure after a month would have been able to already support enough to free up experienced developers to work on both games.

This video is weeks late, you knew about this situation a lot earlier and only the pressure applied by players through public venues forced this apology. It is honorable to take accountability in hind sight, but players deserved an answer in early January to manage expectations.

I highly doubt this is a money or time problem. It is a lack of company expansion far sight. Just given the success of the PoE2 launch there should be enough capital to bring in more people. Maybe Tencent is blocking it, who knows. But in the end this is not a time problem, this is an infrastructure problem at the company where all senior executives massively underestimated the personnel needs.

Overall, you had well-deserved success with Poe2 but it now requires PoE1 players and also your staff to sacrifice because you did not hire enough people. It is not right. Not to the players, and not to your teams.

The most well worded and thoughtful post in the entire thread. quoting it in the hope that if Johnathan reads any post here, it would be that one.
really dont like this decision. Is this another lie? will you even work on poe1, or is it just over and we dont get to see our favourite game ever again?

I'm happy for the future of poe2 tho ... 3.26 when? patch notes when?
thx a lot for your dedicated work <3
Dont listen to stupidity, your game is awsome.

To be honest, I rather hear someone say the words "This has been a failure" just to make sure someone at least recognizes it as it is.

As a PoE1 enjoyer I had high hopes for PoE2 but it ended up being something I did not love because of sweeping changes that do not make it feel fun like the lack of loot making me run act 1-3 gear in cruel act 1-3 just because I'm unlucky and not somehow being able to find an upgrade path or how boring the skill tree feels with the high amount of travel nodes and lack of interesting nodes.

Now people have been taken off PoE1 to not only having to support the launch of PoE2 but the focus is so much on PoE2 which has been marketed as a different game for a different audience that PoE1 suffers and it's community that has been trying to hold out with it.

Instead of "We can keep PoE2 burning while we keep our promises and take some heat off us by releasing something in PoE1" it feels like the plan is to focus on selling PoE2 now because it can't be sold later down the line.

If you're making 2 different experiences for 2 different core audiences, you cannot think at any point that releasing something in PoE2 will impact how players feel about PoE1. How anything related to PoE2 should relate to how people feel about PoE1, this genuinely sucks that I'm waiting for a game that I genuinely hate to get some kind of update that isn't probably going to change my mind on it to maybe have some semblance of a concept thrown at me to be excited about for PoE1, a game I've been waiting on to get a new update.

I mean at least tell us something about anything at this point, what is the scope of 0.2 and why is it taking so long. Is there even an end in sight? Is the next league in 2026 because 0.2 is going to be released in December? What is even 1 exciting thing we can think about for PoE1 3.26 or is there nothing established yet? Did the scope eventually change or does the original scope still live on?

Don't over promise under deliver, but you have something you can promise AND deliver at this point right?
refund poe2 ( more bugs, more lags)

My questions have not been answered by support at the post office for a month now.
I am disappointed. POE2 was supposed to have no impact on POE1. I feel completely deceived and sad because of this.
