Quitting this game after being scammed out of all of my currency

You fell for the oldest trick in the book and blame the game? See you next league.
I feel your pain, I just got scammed for 85 divs in a similar situation. As much as it sucks, we are to blame here. I'd seen the scam happen at low prices but assumed the appropriately priced one was legit without even checking the window, and that's on me. If you want one with +5 att/+10 global defenses I'd be happy to give you the one I got scammed with, just send me a whisper ingame @ Smivy

Well, it is the games fault. No other ARPG released in the last 20 years has such an antiquated and completely inadaquate system for trading. The only reason we're stuck with this nonsense is because the devs feel like progression needs to be slow and end game should only be seen by the streamer no lifer crowd. They hold (the completely incorrect and outright insulting) view that if people were to get rewards too quickly, they'd stop playing the game. So they throw up roadblocks wherever possible to make the game as painful as possible for as many players as possible. The trading system, by their own admission in their vision posts, is painful on purpose. It exists to add friction to the game and slow things down. Basically, they have no respect for their players or their time.

And yet, plenty of games have shown how you can innovate in terms of trading and auction houses if having a normal auction house is too scary (see for example: last epoch). If you had bothered to read the thread, you'd also see this is someone who doesnt play leagues. He probably won't be coming back to the game.

Live and learn. ANY TIME someone cancels a trade you need to be hyper vigilant as that is a very likely telltale scam coming. A lot of times someone just needs to clear some stash space or grab the right currency, but at least half the time a scam is about to come your way with item or currency swap.

I guess it's a little too late to learn that now. I saw 5% and 10% and didn't even realize that the max life roll was possible. It's just too disheartening to have that much effort thrown down the drain because of one moment of oversight.

It's early access so all the effort is essentially getting thrown down the drain as ea characters will be in a separate eternal league. Just look at it as a time to learn the game and what not to do

That is incorrect.

Before a trade can be completed the player has to hover over the item(s) they will receive. So the game forces you to check what you will get, before it allows you to accept. If the item is changed before the trade is completed, you will have to hover over it again.

There is no way a trade can be completed without the game forcing you to check the item. If you do not look, the game is not at fault.

No, the game is still at fault for having a system this antiquated be the primary method of trading. Stop trying to excuse hateful dev behavior and these stupid systems that should have been replaced 10 years ago.

Just go away

Why? There is no excuse for still relying on this trading system. Other games have shown how you can implement auction houses or trade shops or a number of other effective systems.

The devs have openly posted that they want trading to be painful for the player to slow them down. That's literally the only reason why we still have this stupid system that allows newer players to be scammed. If no other games in this or related genre's had been able to solve the problem there would be a valid excuse, but they have. There's numerous tried and tested solutions out there for effective trading systems. There's no excuses left for why we are stuck with this nonsense.

1. You should instantly block anyone who leaves a trade early, no exceptions.

2. That's the whole point of trading, global pvp, and you lost at it.
