Thoughts about the interview?
" We aren't comparing PoE2 to PoE1 on launch. We are comparing it to the games we can currently spend our time on instead of PoE2. It's worth noting that +2 maps are a dangerous thing.
They can cause players to get out of their depth - playing maps that are too hard for the items they currently have. Herp Derp. |

L interview
I'm not interested in any QoL change if the game isn't balanced properly what are the atlas improvements or on-death effect improvements gonna do if I can't play the builds I want to play? overpowered builds can stay for now, and I totally get why they don't want to kill builds before an economy reset, but why not buff weaker builds? how are the skills nobody's using going to be tested for bugs/exploits if they're too weak? balance should be the primary focus of EA, and deploying a balance patch every 3 months isn't going to cut it "buff grenades" - Buff Grenades (Buff-Grenades) Last edited by auspexa#1404 on Jan 15, 2025, 6:09:21 AM

" (Re. the melee, warrior-centric points) One initial thought that may defend the other (the 2 reps from GGG of the interview) side perhaps...their remarks were quite intentional (despite the lack of empathy), and it was in doing so for the best for the future, i.e. prepare those that think there will be change and that it will be diff from PoE1 (end-game/mapping) but he already knows it's a lost cause (currently leaning towards they are in-the-know re. general community sentiments [and perhaps there really is nothing they can/will do]). However, playing devil's advocate, given the past history of PoE1 and what many others have said for their track record - this also isn't anything new in a way...so perhaps this is again no different, and history repeats itself once again (in due time). To re-iterate (TLDR): post-interview, (personally) my current (until more data arrives from the community/YT/forums/Reddit/etc) bet will side on past history, i.e. "melee < ranged" and "zoom zoom 1-shot" -- so, no real changes from PoE1, essentially (with the main outlier of the campaign for the 1st ~60 lvls or so...lol --- and new melee classes like Druid/Templar/Marauder...lol [bye Warrior...lol {I don't count Monk...lol -- nor minion/Witch...lol}]) -- and timing-wise, I'll just say 2026+ (so, guessing 1 more year of gamedev until full Release post-this EA). (Post this interview w/ the 2 GGG reps, I just decided to bite the bullet and re-rolled Monk [finally?] for SSF [felt the additional handicap of SSF would help Balance it out...lol. {Merc lvl ~64, Witch lvl 21, Warrior lvl 66 -- considering trying out the Quarterstaff for my Merc -- Re-spec Again...lol -- and yes, will still be on the lookout for future Druid/Templar/Marauder...lol}]) Trade is EZ mode. ;) | Path of Trading ;) | "TLDR: -1 Devs ohhh" (Lol.) | "I've played a lot of videogames. It's my primary recreational activity. Best games ever: Elden Ring and Diablo 4." ~Elon Musk, 2023 | "Dawg", "IQ 48" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ | [Removed by Support]

" well its a test version of 1/3 of the game in early access a year away from launch where it will release with enough room to accommodate 10 years of quarterly expansions like poe1 has had. so you spend your time where you want to spend your time m8, if thats not something you want to spend your time playing then fair play. but this is what the game currently is. poe1 desperately needs players right now, if thats what u wanna play please go play it because i dont want to see that game die. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" i know you are passionate about the game Fae and you want it to be as good as it can be, i get it, i want that too. i think the crafting system right now is a complete mess, its just not good enough, we dont have enough control. its just gonna take time, they have so many things to develop and balance, the game is going to be a shifting mess for the next year while they work it all out. but dont worry m8, it will get there. when it releases almost every league is going to have some form of item crafting or modification system attached to it, and were gonna get a league every 3 months. reason i say you should care about essences and omens is thats what we have right now, so we need those bits to do what they do well. im not happy with either of those systems, theyre doing nothing for me atm. other systems will come. i can almost guarantee you we will get a crafting bench at some point, its too popular a thing to not bring it back. there will be a big expansion at some point a year or 2 after release and the crafting bench will be there, everyone will lose their mind, the league will have record player counts and ggg will make a killing on supporter packs. theres no way that doesnt happen. they have to leave enough room in the game for 10 years of constantly adding stuff. im so desperate for the game to be perfect too, but its a long way off release. were just gonna have to tell them where the game is bad, they will add it to the long to-do list. lets just play the bits that work and make us happy, trust the process. if this build architype or that skill sucks right now, it is what it is, were just going to have to wait to play with that. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :) Last edited by Snorkle_uk#0761 on Jan 15, 2025, 10:34:56 PM

Overall it was good, I think Mark is right about warrior, primary issue regarding playstyle is total attack time/attack speed.
Jonathan or Mark also brought up good points that armour does not have the same privilege like the two other defensive layers having strong keystones. Interested to see what they cook to help armour. Surprised they might rework it fundamentally. Regarding IIR, it's fine either way IMO, you can have gear for both, can't say whether I'd want to remove it or not. Crafting, I'm certain they will find ways to make it better, buffing omens and greater essences is going to help a lot, specifically the essence. " Now that's a solid argument. Could you make it a bit shorter next time please, I almost didn't get to the end of your comment. "To entertain doubt is to dance with death"
