Thoughts about the interview?
To the people feeling disappointed:
This is GGG being GGG. When they do not want to talk about something they just feign ignorance. They have always done this, and they are stubborn like mules. Sometimes they will offer in depth explanations, other times they will simply put their foot down, double down and insist that it works as intended. For any new folks here, you either get used to accept it or you move on. Also, there are things they really do not know, they are human after all. As a looong time player of POE 1, all I can say is that GGG is a mixed bag. You never know what you get, but can almost always predict exactly what you get....mostly nerfs. |

Glad they arent caving to tourists to make the game easy as poe1.
Wish we got more balance changes but it seems like we will have a new league soonish which they intend to wait for to do that. Only thing that sucks about that is ive kinda lost the will to level up any new characters now that this current league is essentialy voided in a month or so. |

Surprised about all the negativity here.
As far as gaming company interviews go, I felt they were transparent and committed to continuing to look into issues the community flags. The amount of changes they are making in such a short time frame is impressive. I don’t agree/love all of their decisions but I do feel they are looking at the data and trying their best to make the best game possible. I can’t say that about other companies. |

it was a good interview, honest and theyre dealing with the problems.
" rarity has been shown to not be having the big impact people have been claiming, and the game isnt balanced around it. movement speed doesnt need to be an implicit, its ok to have mods that are highly desirable on a gear slot. they literally said they are changing weightings and the mod pool to make bad mods less likely to roll on gear. they said that they were going to change crafting, make omens more common, essences more common, runes resocketable and they will continue to add more crafting mechanics that allow us to do more stuff. i dunno that you are really being fair to what was actually said. the only thing on that list they dismissed was the need to make mods everyone wants implicit, and thats completely fair. i agree with them on that. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :) Last edited by Snorkle_uk#0761 on Jan 14, 2025, 5:59:18 AM

" Yeah they messed up big time when they nerf-hammered Warrior before the holidays and brought up that rushed power system to stop the trigger spells madness ... it was pure overreaction on their part & they know it , so even though they announced no nerfs yet they did made some remarks during this interview about Attribute Stacking build & other OP shit they have on radar . As a biased High end warrior player, it really disappointed me that the team seemingly didn't have a better pulse on the issues facing the class.
It was spot on of DM to summarize with Warrior seemingly having the worst offensive, defensive and playability only to have Johnathon and co agree and slightly shrug their shoulders instead of having anything tangible. I understand its short timing coming back from break and not having all the answers but it really seems like this issue should have had more commentary given the state of the class in relation to everyone else. Just feels sad. |

" 1 and 4: The two issues (droprates being heavily nerfed, because they are balanced for Rarity, and Regal / Exalt orbs being 1 pull at the slot machine) just amplify each other into an enormous problem. Even as a HCSSF player, I prioritise Rarity over Resistances, because otherwise I couldn't even farm gear upgrades, even during campaign. Which is a terrible state IMO. And I don't really care about getting Omens or Essences. I want a deterministic crafting system. Give us a crafting bench. I don't want to play gacha. They nailed two issues that I really wanted to see addressed. Runes and uniques. I'm pretty happy.

I can understand their vision, it really feels like they are playing so many cards close to the vest based on content they have in mind coming down the pipeline.
Unfortunately that drastically effects the product we are currently playing if key parts aren't implemented yet. Ultimately I trust them to deliver, however right now certain aspects feel disjointed and out of place. I guess for myself the only thing I can continue to give them is time and hope that the internal vision that they hold solves a lot more of the issues we are seeing. |

" This. Its pretty clear that the team is only willing to listen to objective issues players bring them, and not subjective ones. Case in point - Magic Find/Rarity |
