For a bit I hoped they would introduce fast/PoE1 mode in PoE2, but then I realized it's not just about drop rates, but it's about not having movement skills, having barely any skill gems, the stupid requirements for skills/supports, the lack luster 'crafting'... In PoE1 I can make random skill combinations work and have fun with it. There is no chance that will be able in PoE2.

I'm not sure if it's so unrealistic. They could increase movement/skill speed for PoE 1 mode, crafting is just EA problem and should be added later, things like 6 portals can change a lot for some players. Even though it wouldn't be actual PoE 1 mode, but it could close the gap very significantly. But maybe you are right, like what's the point to make surrogate version of PoE 1 in PoE 2 if players who enjoy this mode can just play PoE 1, it probably will work much better for them.
They are happy about the game... or afraid that they need to almost change the game entirely to make it fun. It's a strange one, because the base game is somewhat fun, but the mechanics are totally wrong with very poor game deign choices.
Because they are ashamed of having released a reboot of POE1 after 10 years, still with an XP penalty and other outdated things.

I agree with this, theres something about PoE2 that i really like, but i dont see how they can make it fun to play for hundreds and hundreds of hours without a complete overhaul of almost every aspect of character progression design. Skill Tree, Skill Gems are extremely limiting, ive got a couple characters at maps, highest is lvl88 and i literally have no feeling that i want to play the game any more as it is because i cant see any other builds or alternate way to build a character thats going to be any better than what i already have, its such an obvious path to take on the skill tree and with skill gems that you almost as well remove them from the game.

Just to add im breezing through t15 maps, im not losing interest because of dying, if anything the content is too easy. I have plenty of waystones available, no issues with the drop rate on those. Loot has been fine, i have currency to spend on the market if i wanted to.

Indeed. In POE 1 I had the impression that I could experiment and makes weird builds that no one saw coming. In POE 2, you NEED to follow a path, or you're gonna be useless. So the mechanics doesn't really makes it different than, let's say Diablo 4, as there's a meta build or two for a class and that's absolutely what you need to do to achieve something end game.
Have you ever heard of Christmas? It's this holiday that happens near the end of December and it celebrated in most of the Western world. I understand that Americans might be used to maybe getting one or two days off if they're lucky, but in countries with stronger employee protections it isn't uncommon for people to take multiple weeks off work for major holidays.

I looked through that reddit post a bit.

What's scaring me is how no one is bringing up the bad optimization of the game and how thousands of players are dealing with pc lockups and crashes.

I get it, it takes time to fix the problem.

It doesn't take much however to just give us a "yo, we know this sucks but we hear you and we are working on it"

I think that's all most of us want, just a clear line of communication.

That is a WINDOWS problem, not POE2. It's not unique to POE2, many other games are dealing with the same problem. Yes, there is likely things they can do to fix it, and they will be looking at it.

A problem that only affects a portion of your users, caused by something completely out of your control, that has a USER level work around that works for the majority of people... is NOT a high priority issue that requires circumventing change control processes and risking causing larger issues due to taking emergency actions.

It isn’t a windows problem. The game runs worse on Arch Linux than Windows for my setup. It’s a hardware/driver compatibility problem.
