I looked through that reddit post a bit.

What's scaring me is how no one is bringing up the bad optimization of the game and how thousands of players are dealing with pc lockups and crashes.

I get it, it takes time to fix the problem.

It doesn't take much however to just give us a "yo, we know this sucks but we hear you and we are working on it"

I think that's all most of us want, just a clear line of communication.

That is a WINDOWS problem, not POE2. It's not unique to POE2, many other games are dealing with the same problem. Yes, there is likely things they can do to fix it, and they will be looking at it.

A problem that only affects a portion of your users, caused by something completely out of your control, that has a USER level work around that works for the majority of people... is NOT a high priority issue that requires circumventing change control processes and risking causing larger issues due to taking emergency actions.

Yaeh man, those damn Linux distros and gaming consoles that are running Windows on them. So much sense.

People need to stop making excuses for corporations.

Nobody here is expecting much, but some basic communication & acknowledgement is the absolute least one can expect in an early access game that pretends to be built around player feedback.

I agree that they should post something along the lines 'we are acknowledging your feedback and preparing improvements' and keep us posted on the official site, not on twitter & reddit.

But people also need to be realistic and not expect GGG to return to work on Monday and already address a million issues that piled up over the weeks on Wednesday.

Some of the issues have huge balance & design implications, and some can't even be 'solved', eg. "GGG, plx fix the economy".

Because they're happy with the state of the game in terms of everything except bugs.

It adheres to the vision perfectly. Pretty much everything is unfun except maybe 2 builds that cost upwards of 10 div to really start feeling good.

They wanted to bring a shitty 2000s game into 2025, and they are succeeding.
Still waiting for GGG to admit that they made mistakes and actually work on fixing them.

I think the reason is that they didn't release that majority of PoE 1 community don't actually need meaningful and challenging gameplay, they were totally fine without it and it only make the game worse for them, tedious and annoying. They thought, PoE 1 veterans will be happy about new changes but many of them hate the new direction. And they are too afraid to admit it or say it at loud, while without addressing this, it will be hard to comment everything.

Yep, this.

They have to walk on eggshells as the community is clearly divided into two camps: those that wanted an updated PoE1 and those that hated PoE1. Whatever side they choose, they lose trust and respect from about half of the players.

They could update PoE1 with the new graphics and campaign to keep the first group happy, but that will take a lot of money and years of time.

For a bit I hoped they would introduce fast/PoE1 mode in PoE2, but then I realized it's not just about drop rates, but it's about not having movement skills, having barely any skill gems, the stupid requirements for skills/supports, the lack luster 'crafting'... In PoE1 I can make random skill combinations work and have fun with it. There is no chance that will be able in PoE2.

I think that whatever they do, they're gonna lose out on a lot of long time spenders, and I'm not at all sure if the new influx of players will solve the financial loss.

I'm starting to believe this more and more lol

By your logic it would be enough for them to state that and the people in the multiple threads spanning 300+ pages on their own forums would be a lot happier.

your post is uninformed and doesn't bring anything to this discussion.

Windows 11 24H2 is known to cause these problems, it is all over the forums here, gaming news, reddit and anywhere else one might look for problems involving PCs crashing. Just google Windows 11 24H2 Games, or search the forums here for 24H2.

And even by that metric their (non-)communication is abysmal.

This is an early access game many people put their trust and money in. And GGG is spitting into all of their faces with their arrogant complacency.

I feel completely duped by this joke of a company. No wonder a dictatorship like China felt compelled to swallow them whole.
