Why is there a Radio Silence from the Devs??

"
Sorry, I didn’t quite understand what you meant, but there ARE quite a lot of issues with the game that don’t contribute to it being challenging or hard. Many forum posts are already discussing these issues. The topic of this post is to address the lack of communication from the devs to their clearly disgruntled player base. Even if they don’t intend to change certain things, they should communicate that.

There are also a lot of "issues" like ascendancy trials, one portal per map, XP penalty, which are not actually an issues but features. People are constantly discussing them, GGG can't be transparent and in the same time completely avoid these topics which they want to avoid.

I mean if I didn’t have anything to tell you yet, I wouldn’t either. Would you? How many hours you get out of the game already? They aren’t working on our time line, and they don’t need to rush anything. Games not even out yet

I looked through that reddit post a bit.

What's scaring me is how no one is bringing up the bad optimization of the game and how thousands of players are dealing with pc lockups and crashes.

I get it, it takes time to fix the problem.

It doesn't take much however to just give us a "yo, we know this sucks but we hear you and we are working on it"

I think that's all most of us want, just a clear line of communication.

If there's one thing developers hate with a fiery passion, it's bug fixing and any accountability. Okay, that's two things.

But developers, in my experience anyway after having closely worked with them for 10+ years, all have some form of minor god complex.

They create things out of thin air, and the peasants (i.e. users) better be grateful for having the privilege to be able to use and experience their divine creations.

Any feedback from players that's negative is internally seen as trolling, and you really don't want to know how these folks talk about their own customers behind closed doors.

Of course they can never publicly speak like that, so they punish you with their silence instead.

In other words, it's nothing but arrogance underneath it all.
I'm a developer, I love being accountable for my work and fixing bugs especially if I didn't introduce them in the first place

If it was up to me I'd be completely open about flaws. It's product team that sits quietly on them, spends hours round tabling comms etc

Wouldn't keeping an open line and have the community help with troubleshooting and actively trying to find a solution be much more beneficial for all parties?

I personally respect people more when they are open about flaws/mistakes and such.
Shit will always happen, there's way too many variables and I think most of us understand this.

So keeping an open line of communication that is active from the support in any kind of way would be much more sustainable in a situation like this.

In my line of work I would have been roasted if I wasn't on it within 24 hours.

That is a WINDOWS problem, not POE2. It's not unique to POE2, many other games are dealing with the same problem. Yes, there is likely things they can do to fix it, and they will be looking at it.

A problem that only affects a portion of your users, caused by something completely out of your control, that has a USER level work around that works for the majority of people... is NOT a high priority issue that requires circumventing change control processes and risking causing larger issues due to taking emergency actions.

I'd say you work with a bunch of asshats. I was a developer (moved into other, related areas) and everyone I've ever worked with enjoys bug fixing.

Yes, there's a minor god complex that's pretty common, and being the one that solved the problem and fixed the bug just adds to it. Developers, at the end of the day, are normally problem solvers first. It's those weird UI/UX people that are more artists and think they are always right...

Sounds like a great idea, until you read all of the threads in this forum and you realize why they don't.

When people do nothing but sling insults at the developers and say things like "trash design" because they personally don't like something... yeah, no need to keep an open line of communication.

I would not be surprised if GGG does have some more trusted players (and of course, some of those would be streamers) that they have such an open line of communication with. But that's not any of us.

I understand being on vacation until January 6; I was on one myself. However, after that, the team has had a few days to review feedback from the player base. They could have simply provided a response acknowledging the feedback, stating they’re working on some issues, or clarifying that certain things are fine as they are. The devs don’t need to change everything people are asking for, but they could have highlighted a few major concerns and issued a simple statement saying they’re looking into them. This radio silence doesn’t look good at the moment.

Bro, they are busy driving there new Bugatti all day long... They made big cash, they don't need us atm...

They literally did this.

"This week, we'll be focusing on hotfixing various bugs in Path of Exile 2. We're also working on a restart patch that we hope to release as soon as it's ready."

You can also go to the patch notes section and see the updates for what fixes they have for crashes so far…or do you guys need an update on when they use the restroom, or which employees put in a PTO request too. Would that help?

Didn’t work i guess
