$1000+ spent in 2 leagues - Not continuing - Id rather waste my time at work than the 1 portal

I see no reason to continue playing with the 1 portal system.

It is literally a waste of peoples time and effort. There is a reason I dont play HC, I dont want to. I dont want to get good at the game, i want it to be entertainment. I am good at something, my job which has allowed me the freedom to play games and spend money on these games for them to continue growing.

But at this point in time I cant think of 1 redeeming quality of the 1 portal system. Get good? Why, I dont play this to get good, its entertainment. This game is nothing more than entertainment from a high stress job.

I am not here to get the best gear, I am not here to amass a trade league fortune. I am here like a good 75% playing it, not giving a care in the world, haivng fun. KEYWORD HERE IS FUN.

Settlers was my 1st PoE league, id die and die and die, which was fun to me. As I was getting better at the game seeing the mistakes I made. I could see it and feel it, sure i didnt lvl for a week straight dying loosing all 6 portals not killing everything. Loosing loot and not being efficent, all of which were penalties. Ya i bought 50+ Quads hoarding gear, crafting on and obvisouly failing. I had 1300 hours and by the end ya I could do stuff but still died and lost portals. Rek'tar never broke me. I died and lost so many mechanics, because thats what new players do, they die.


But a random snake in poe 2 did after setting up towers, going in to get frozen, to posioned, to a corpse explode in the 1st 30 seconds. There is no incentive of fun in this way of dying. I had to sit there watching it kill me, knowing no matter what I did. I was done.

Im sorry I didnt hover scan over every mob to double check there wasny a freezing rare mob before enganging, sorry i didnt dodge roll instantly after going in to avoid, my bad I got frozen, to then knowing I cant do it. All tower effort come. Why waste my time on something like this?

If you find it fun great, make it a choice to have the 1 portal system so you can have fun your way, and I can have fun my way. Just like HC.

Modern devs either forgot that video games are a form of entertainment and are meant to be fun, or they had some weird childhoods and now they get some sort of joy by frustrating and wasting their players time.

Do I still play PoE2? Unfortunately I do, Im still hoping to find that joy I had in PoE1 while getting my PoE addiction satisfied.
Will I spend more money on GGG products? Definitely not. Am I alone on this? I don't think so.

Based and true.

I have no idea why the devs decided to just force all SC players to play in Hardcore. It makes no sense. All this 1 portal nonsense does is waste people's time and make them quit. And personally I ain't ever playing this game unless we get our 6 portals back.

I refuse to play a game where Softcore is actually just Hardcore. No I picked Softcore so let me play that lmao its bad enough that this game is basically Ruthless with so much of the "vision" completely poisoning its design inside-out.

That's like making a game where picking Easy difficulty actually sets it to the hardest one. It just screams "we hate the player".
I love the 1-portal system, but GGG should really give us PoE purists a ruthless mode and not subject everyone else to this.

It would also give them a good place to not subject us to the zoomerfest power creep. They are trying to strike a middle ground against fundamentally different player bases, like Timmy's vs. Spikes.

Put the 1 portal death system into ruthless and keep that ball torture away from people who just want to have fun. NOT EVERYONE IS INTO BDSM
I would also like a reason to justify supporting this game more, but as it stands I'm just further regretting my current supporter pack purchase.

I strongly agree the incentive to run maps becomes very low, very quickly, for anything but the most diehard PoE fans.

Dying is way too punishing considering how badly tuned the game is, and how many rippy 1-shots there are.

1-death per map is some fully mentally deficient design.

But the 10% exp loss for every BS instant death is what made me just stop playing. I want to play, but I see basically zero reason to, and feel like my time as a player is pretty disrespected.

Wasn't a huge fan of losing so much exp dying in PoE1 either, but I SURE AS HELL had more control over it. In this game, you are just sorta cruising along, doing a reasonable map, and then... POP. DEAD. TIME, MAP, AND PATIENCE GONE. And you think to yourself... huh.
After playing PoE 1 with 6 portals for more than 1200 hours and then trying the difference in 1 portal in PoE 2, I absolutely LOVE 1 portal as it finally makes me to pay attention.

1 Portal is a way to counter glass-cannon builds. These exact glass cannon builds who focus ONLY on exploding the entire screen and deleted bosses, knowing that any hit will result in their death and accepting that, because they have 6 lives, these builds FCK UP the game balance. Everything is then balanced around this insane DMG and the whole game becomes a speed run of who hits first, wins.

No thanks.

I actually like the fact that defenses are PART of the game and are required to progress.
Other solution to have some balance would be hard capping the dmg output to like Xdps/sec and no more. Yeah, that would be much more unpopular and you would anyway invest into defenses once you would reach that ceiling.

My buddy whos a professor went at the game 1st time. More than likely will stop. We dont play meta builds, we dont play glass cannons. We suck.

Other friends who have full time jobs I am suggesting to no longer play this game.

None of them would play meta builds or glass cannon, so they are penalizing all of us because we choose to play the game for fun and enjoyment. And fail in the process.
