Chore?

I agree with most of the stuff you've wrote, but lets not forget that this is an Early Access! I'm sure the game will be tuned way better after a year.

" I think I understand what is meant a little bitter now, but I don't think "artificial" is really the best word for it. "Unsatisfying" or "Unexpected" maybe. You don't expect to get one-hit-killed by a trash mob. You don't expect to grind to a halt (pun intended) because there's no crafting or other mechanism to improve gear. You don't expect to lose an hour's XP progress for a moment's distraction. In other words, it's when the game is blocking progress in ways that aren't satisfying. No one says it's "artificial difficulty" that Mario dies in one hit, but that's the expectation the game sets up. Would someone say "failing a saving throw against a ghoul, getting paralyzed, then crit 3 times and dying" in D&D is artificial? It all flows from the rules, but the player will probably find it unsatisfying and jarring. |

" Lets all agree that fun is subjective and this genre of game probably isn't meant for you. You see this genre is about hack and slash "grinding" a character and loot a gameplay loop that is basically D&D without the RP. In this genre progress is measured in character power and items are usually a big part of that and are usually very RNG so the loop lasts longer than 1 night or 1 week or even potentially 1 month. "difficulty" in this kind of game is generally measured as impediments or obstacles to your progress of your characters power. Unlike say and FPS where its measured in how well you can mouse over heads and click them. Or say souls likes where its measured in how well you can memorize bosses moves, avoid the pattern and then attack in between them when the pattern tells you its safe to do so. In Chess difficulty is in projecting out your opponents moves. In a strategy game difficulty is in planning, distributing resources in a timely manner and considering, finding and using tactical advantages. This is an ARPG, a game about collecting unpredictable loot to make your character stronger. If you don't like collecting loot or unpredictability then I can suggest any number of great games that don't rely on this or not as much. Let me know what kind of game you might like. No sarcasm, because ARPG's seem to be exactly the opposite of what you want to play. Also there's absolutely no chance that GGG agrees with a single thing you wrote down and will never make this game something you want (IMO). Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4. Last edited by alhazred70#2994 on Dec 31, 2024, 6:44:37 PM

" What "genre" do you mean? SoulslikeRoguelikePuzzlelikeARPGlike? PoE 1 is an excellent ARPG Cult of the Lamb is an fun and challenging Roguelike Elden Ring is an masterpiece Souls game Because PoE 2 is trying to be everything and isn't good in none. " Im sorry to say if you play video games, you are more or less a hamster ona wheel with a carrot, specially in games where you progress and enemies gets stronger. Yes its all about an illusion, i mean if you want real and productive, you can alwys learn somethign in that time, or do some charity work... |

" Nah it's not that "PoE 2 isn't for someone". It's that the game is horribly designed, boring, slooooooooow, a massive chore, and has objectively worse systems than PoE 1 right now. Actually the worst game I've seen in years. It's gonna take a while for it to be in a fun, playable state. Right now its just some kind of dark souls parody. A bad one. |

Ultimately we were sold a more diablo like experience that would have wider accessibility, as they would make some things easier to draw a bigger crowd. The removal of fusings and a simpler tree I think I remember being the selling points making people think we would "login to a 6 link." It just didn't happen. It was just flat wrong. The dude is right the game does not look fun I don't want to try it at all even for FREE at this point. I'm basically done with poe 1 as well, "the vision" etc ever since 3.15 it's been on a slope and it's not up.
They get mad at the players defeating content. Seriously. Boast you do xyz in ssfhc with xyz build and next league it's gone. It's my tinfoil they're just deleting your currency from the game because "the players cause the issue" mentality stop them from enjoying players overcoming the hurdles they set out. More likely to me than someone defeating 2FA with state level effort for a 200k player game. How many divs in the game? it's so rare and few, if you stole them all it wouldn't be worth the rmt for it. They're passive aggressive and ignore what we've asked for, for years. Years. Shorter campaign, log into hideout. It's like 30 mins of work, right. Make some areas smaller, by allot, get us to maps quicker and login to hideout feature. Like, have chatGPT spit it out and paste it in please. EXP loss on death, I predict, if removed, not a single (sane) person complains. Every ARPG with checkpoints and mana unsolved is empty. Stunned out of a portal is dumb pausing is good if the game is unbalanced but it could be completely removed with proper monster balance. Not very ACTION rpg to stop and think what's happening on the screen. Those games are more empty than poe if you can imagine. GGG gets to have the exact same type of day if the league is good or bad, but as the players, it sucks having a bad league. It sucks mate. For the creators it sucks too. Not even DayZ or pubg numbers and they'll pretend it's a success. The cope in this thread.. So some people enjoyed the lightshow and are having fun well that's awesome to hear. The slot machine is gone, future concept of suffering looks grim. "it's EA" cope. 6 years to have a balanced game with a different vision. A near perfect example (poe 1) they own and control. Stuff immediately nerfed out of the gate. Quin69's THEORYCRAFT build before the game dropped, was nerfed something like a day before. Whatever ben use goes untouched until he's done with it everyone else builds nerfed real time. It was a great run. 3.26, Don't care, here is why (do you really need to guess) path 1 is irrelevant as poe 2 exist. 3.26 what for? 3.26 being better than poe 2 will surely make me never try poe 2 and I'm just so disapointed by it all. Everyone vacations ruined and they take this big vacation while customers cant get tech support, or refunded when they accidentally clicked twice or some nonsense. " You have just 5 accounts in standard btw. Shh. Last edited by benzman9001#5398 on Dec 31, 2024, 7:02:03 PM
