Exp loss on death topics are getting out of hand.

There are legitimate game design flaws and issues with the game PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO SEE. Open your eyes.

Literally every single/every other rare mob, and there are hundreds on them on juiced maps explodes on death after a delay. Explosion not only stuns/incacipates, it deals way too much damage, Kripparian talked about how overtuned damage numbers are. Literally fully res capped, and 7kish hp and you can get oneshot by it. Moreover it can stack multiple times, it is not a single explosion but a group of mobs dying you are screwed.

The game is already slow and sloggy, now this makes it much slower, want to chase mobs? here is your death ticket and minus 10% exp, 10% exp and 95 level and higher is about 2-3 hours of intense non-stop grind. You only get 1% or less for an average t15 map.

Why every mob explodes? Because they have alot of rare affixes, and there simply not enough affixes in the game, so every other mobs gets an explosive affix.



So I take it that, you didn't know. Someone already pointed out that minions or some rare "affixes" were inherited by their minions and on your example, explode which the rare mob should only explode, not their minions also. Not sure if it has been reported but I assumed it was in the bug section.

I'm a new POE player and I have 200+ hours now but I'm not a new ARPG player. I play ARPG games since first Diablo. I've been having a great time until the maps.

As people said in early pages of this thread, if you want to aim a larger audiance, you have to evolve. Not backwards tho. You cant make systems that other games stopped doing because they lose player count. People have jobs, families and other responsibilities. These games are get away from real life. If they erase my progress, I stop there because I value my time. Time is valuable.

In a game, if you die, you die. It is already frustrating but you learn your mistakes and improve yourself. In this game, death is not enough, even it was not a skill issue but a terrible design choise. They get your Map, they get your loot, they get your XP and time. Why? Why people think this is reasonable? Why you want to suffer more? You can choose 2 options: Reward or Punishment. One makes positive feedback and other one only creates frustration. And I dont even want a reward. If I die OK, take my loot, take my map. But NOT MY TIME.

To fellow POE veterans who defend the XP loss, I dont know how it is in POE1 but GGG said they will continue to support the game. So, you can go play that one. And if GGG says they will continue as it is, then I can go play another ARPG.

We are providing feedback on the forums and they want that feedback. You dont need to be scared. There is still a POE 1 to play out there if they choose to change this design.

We'll see in time how they will choose.

For now, I took a break. I wish you all have a nice experience.

The point your missing is that hitting level 100 in poe isnt a requirement for anything. Its purposely setup so that you dont automaticly hit max level. Most build guides are set for lvl 90ish and its not balanced around you being lvl 100
So this is getting out of hand because of people giving feedback u don't like?

Xp penalty bad. It's pure tedium like it always was in POE1. With it, u are forced to play the game in a specific way to reach it. Which crushes build diversity and player agency. And for what? A "good" build will already reach 100 faster because you aren't wasting time respawning and walking back every 2 packs. So the player with the "suboptimal" build choice is already punished having to put in more effort.

E-peen and ladder are just a sad hill to die on. But hey, GL impressing your tinder match u reached lvl 100.

This man talks in language of facts. If nobody can hit lvl 100 in 500 hours in your game, maybe your game has issue.

It's as weak an argument as saying playing bloodmage isn't a requirement for anything, so it's fine to be a bricked ascendancy.

The main goal of this game is gaining as much power as u can while having agency in the process. I haven't seen one argument made for XP penalty that doesn't impair this.

Its not supposed to justify anything.
Its not even an argument.

People are trying to use the argument that few people hitting 100 is a reason why exp loss is bad. And its just a fact that the game isnt balanced around level 100.

You might think its unfun that hitting 100 is so hard. And thats fine you can have that opinion but it doesnt change the facts of how the game is balanced and played.

And if you feel like your wasting your time then just quit playing instead of whining about it
