Economy is Bad

This game being based around the 'economy' is half the reason players quit.

Loot is balanced way too much around trading while at the same time top tier players are able to generate way too much loot.
Baseline loot needs to be increased considerably while at the same time top tier builds need their loot generation nerfed.

Admittedly, I’m a dad. I have a life. I cannot play video games 30, 40, 50 hours a week. By the time I reach endgame the prices are already insane and crafting blows. It’s a bad combination, and I get the feeling a lot of players run into the same issue and quit. I love PoE, but now more than ever it seems that it’s solely for no-lifers and RMTers. It’s unfortunate that they didn’t choose a different path. Hopefully it’s not too late.

that's exaclty the opposit on how it really is. the later you are to the party, the less middle tier items cost. you can fully gear a tier 15 maps running character with 30 exalts right now. its insanely cheap. im not talking about high end gear, but rly good gear. i dont know why people dont see this, maybe they dont know how to find proper gear on trading, maybe they dont filter their trades for exalt prices, i dont know. but there is nothing easier right now then finding good gear on trade for a few exalts.

another useless take about nerfing the reward of putting effort into the game. you want more loot for doing nothing while you want less loot for people actually investing into it. thats a terrible take. why would people invest into anything if it isnt worth it?

If it matters I don't think it will be "too long" before there is either a character wipe / economic reset / or similar.

I'd like to see how that goes as I'd like to see impacts of changes when everyone goes through the league again "fresh".

No lifers will keep pumping currency while crying people will keep crying and asking for reset over and over again If you can't afford to gear your character then it's your own fault.Stop being bad and improve there will always be people better than you and have more.

Yes Economy Bad

Waystone Drop Rates are bad even when upgraded via atlas passives

Reforging items takes too long

It's infuriating running 3-4 Tier 15 waystones and only getting low tier waystone drops. I feel like I am wasting my time trying to play the game when the game progression regresses from the level I currently am and there's very little I can do about it.

Please for the love of Exiles Improves the High Tier Waystone Drop Rate!!!

No idea why there isn't player stores at this point. That, and automated purchasing would be huge. I am so sick of having to use a secondary website to find gear, having tons of people fake posting stuff. being ignored constantly, afk's.

This is why: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2025870

The devs believe convenient player trading is of the devil.
I enjoy the trading system, they just need to give more opportunity for better loot in end-game.. can't even grind a pinnacle boss without playing 10-30+ hours for 1 item to enter boss room
While the economy is definitely bad, largely due to how things played out in the first couple weeks of EA, and there being no real crafting currency sink other than slamming, we are now basically a month into the "league".

The economy is always pretty fucked by this point. Welcome to path of exile.
Trade sucks hard. People treat it as real currency. Players want to be rich in divine orbs for some reason. Its a bloody game. I'd be happy with set prices that goes off the tier of gear. If GGG don't control it, it gets stupid expensive. I bet it will only get worst.

Someone one is going to say supply and demand. I was looking for a bow and there are thousands of the one I want and all expensive

Yes, different players have different goals and different ways to play. Crazy, I know.

Then there would NEVER be a reason to craft as buying loot would be stupidly cheap. Of course, there wouldn't be much reason to try and sell loot, either.

Law of Supply: When the price of a good goes up, so does the supply.
Law of Demand: When the price of a good goes up, demand decreases.

Multi-player video games are the closest thing to a true free market that exists in this world.

If the price of those bows is really high, the supply of them of them will increase. But the demand for them will fall. If nobody buys them, the price will have to fall, which will in turn, lower the supply. Eventually you reach an equilibrium with some steady inflation as currency keeps entering the economy.
