One try per regular map is fine, but pinnacle bosses should really get a different method or the game just devolves into watch videos and wait til you can overpower them with gear

" I like the idea. I will expand on it. Bosses are one of the best parts of PoE 2. They should lean more on that. Every map should have a boss. Those bosses should be the same bosses we have now on maps, maybe a bit easier. Single try for a map like that. Make uber/harder versions of those bosses and make some maps have them like we currently have with map bosses. Every one in four or five maps could have the hard boss. Add tablets that can add harder bosses to maps. Those uber and pinnacle bosses should have multiple tries to kill them so we don't need to watch videos and over-prep for them. Add a checkpoint before the boss and no option to go back to the map when you enter the arena, so there is still only one try for the map but multiple tries for bosses. When you die on the boss, you go back to the hideout, the boss is reset, and one portal is lost. You go back through the portal and show up at the checkpoint. You can try again until you run out of portals. I think this would be a very good solution. It would punish death in maps but not that much when fighting bosses, which seems like a good compromise. All of this would allow for more enjoyable interactions with bosses, which is one of the most important parts. |
