POE 2 loses it's identity/face on end-game
At this point PoE 2 feels like a marketing scam to me , no other way to put it .

Hopefully we finally get to see what the direction is in the update breakdown. In my mind the solution is to start by massively reducing enemy numbers and speed, with intention of making the slowest attack animations and cast times actually viable. But I'm worried all they're going to do is increase Those skills damage, which won't fix anything.

" My only hope is that they'll go away from this 1-hit fiesta...in both direction. Currently the gameplay is 1-hit or get 1-hit, like in POE1. By reducing the annoyning 1-hit factors from enemies there's also no purpose to make player power so OP and would open so much more possibilities for interesting and engaging fights...from the start till the late endgame. LEt us have thrilling but fair fights with bosses who last more than just 2-3 seconds....same with rares and maybe even trashmobs. Let trashmobs behave intelligent and synergize as a group, so the fights are more than just faceroll them without the need to differ between monster types. I can't name you 1 trashmob in the game even after 400 hours, simply because they're all the same 1-hit bowling pin and therefore not memorable (Oh the 1 shield guy maybe, but thats it). " I d say they need delays/cooldowns. This is absolutely okay to kill 30 mobs at once with huge aoe. But when this happens every f second like in POE1 and POE2 - this is absurd. " One clever person once told that if you want to predict something with a really big chance - simply say that it will be ~same just like now but with some minor changes. I think this is exactly what we will get in 2 weeks. Radical changes? Forget about it. They are unable. " Just look at those "teasers" they drop. What do you see there? Oh! New Spear Skills! Do you see how it kill everything all at once on the screen?! How cool! Or maybe you like that stupid armor build? Do you see how all mobs die just when one of them touches you? This is what everybody wants! [NO]. I think the future is bleak for this game. Last edited by Azimuthus#1135 on Mar 21, 2025, 2:44:06 PM

I really enjoyed the campaign and I recently finally got to endgame (Don't have time to play all days of the week and only a couple of hours). I don't dislike the endgame but I do feel some nice aspects of the campaign got lost.
- I did the campaign co-op with my brother. And one of the most fun things was when one of us died and the other one had to survive and try however possible to revive the other. And it wasn't a sure-fire get out of jail card either. This whole revive mechanic is completely exterminated once you get to the endgame. - I liked doing builds that were about swapping weapon sets between defense and offense. Using Chronomancer's rewind skill to dodge and such and such. Increasingly it looks like the best way to get through maps is to go full defense mode. It feels more of a numbers check than anything else. - While doing the campaign there were so many gems and passives and stuff that you were always experimenting new things. On endgame doing experiments is very discouraged, you simply can't just get on an 'experimental' run against monsters in your level since the penalty of dying is ridiculously extreme. |
