POE 2 loses it's identity/face on end-game

end game has to reflect the campaign gameplay as that what is being marketed, current endgame is rather boring zoom zoom kill everything in 1 shot. farming never matters, all drop rates can be adjusted to suit the targeted gameplay.

That is tough to balance because the more you farm in maps, more you overlevel compared to monster level. So at some point killing white mobs in one hit becomes inevitable no matter how weak your build is. You can adjust the difficulty in maps by simply modifying them with more dangerous mods. Bosses die too fast for your taste? Try fighting them in High Tier map with mods that make them more powerful.

no way to not overlevel in maps considering a +2 t16 is Area Level 82
Farming salt on the forums since 2024
Everyone knows the real end game is just designing a build and seeing it come to fruition

Endgame is copying someone elses build and blasting.

which doesn't really exist in this game.
Good thing you know poe2s identity better than the devs...
Because obviously poe2s identity is what you imagine it to be to fit your personal taste, instead of accepting that it might not be as different from poe as you might have led yourself to believe.
Also it seems kinda funny to me that the community seems like its split 50/50 about wether poe2 is too much or not enough like poe.
Yes but as we reach end-game. We have barely completed build. Low tier maps and high tier maps seems trivalized on the same level.

Even cruel feels to fast and to easy and low tier maps and end game high maps have the same feeling. As we reach somewhat like act 3 cruel game starting to be poe 1.

There;s no need to farm or anything.

Mobs should have more HP but maps should be smaller and more packed with action gameplay that we have in campain. Harder encounters but less encounters at all.
Had the same experience, started around middle/end of act 3, was paying less and less attention to the combat, and the engaging part of it seemed to disappear.

Once I got into Cruel, bosses started to melt completely, and I was just blasting mindlessly, thinking what happened? Wasn't even using a build guide, just home cooking something so the build is far far far far away from being anything optimal.

Kind of feels the game has an identity crisis.

Ever considered that poe2 is not intended to be as different from poe as you would personally like?

Cruel is easier because builds come online and gear starts dropping in meaningful amounts. The game will always stray towards what PoE1 is since the gameplay loop is the exact same and focus is the same (endgame). Endgame is all about farming and clearing in eth most efficient way possible

Once the new smell wears off the bosses, people are going to tire of having to do more than 30 seconds of fighting the boss, since it is repeated so much. Remember, this is a game that repeats the same thing over and over again ad nauseum, every single league. People aren't going to want things to feel like a slog after doing it so often and so much.
