0.1.0d Hotfix 1

i agree with some others...you should make respec free or reduce the cost at least 99%
the actually situation is just sh**
i smell whiteknights
Currently this might feel like a bad change, but has potential to be a great change. This gives a ton more design space for CoC builds: now instead of having to focus on 1 or 2 triggering skills with high hits per second (like cyclone in poe1), it will work with whatever trigger skill you want.
hey GGG next time just flat out remove the spells if they are going to be this terrible after a nerf
"
Good job GGG keep it up.

I still don't get it, why people are surprised. GGG was quite clear what's their vision for POE2 and that is different than POE(no 1 button gameplay no offscreening,no turbo clear, no insta taping bosses- we need engage with mechanics). When i saw videos from CoC eye of winter - comet. and Jurg coc , Srs, poison cloud explosion, i expected it will be nerfed or removed, my take is - if you didn't its on you. As its beta testing in early acces its reasonable to do it straight away.
Most of people copied busted builds from streamers and now they cry. Wake up if trivialise content theres high chance it will be removed or nerfed.

Thank you my guy. I was slowing starting to lose hope reading all those crazy negative comments of ppl using the latest patch as excuse to rage.

I wish to add:

1.
I absolutely agree, GGG should even more escalate balancing things (if necessary). This time is for exactly that.

2.
Yes, this was also what i understood. They wanna make the game slower. Which also means it becomes harder in a way, as superspeed clears are now seen as a thing in the past. Get used to that ppl, you actually have to play the game and dodge >.>!

3.
This should be treated as a testrun and one gets the opportunity to involve themselfs in that and should contribute to that. No one is helping or contributing with extremely rageful and insulting messages after only 6 days, 1 day after a patch that one didn't like, by treatening to leave forever.

4.
Feedback should be given in a respectful manner like:
"It would be nice to have the option to respec my build for cheap after changes that might have destroyed entire builds. As farming gold with a broken build is a hassle that takes too long. Until then, a cuple of new patches might be out, which change the landscape yet again. Therefore it would help us as community with testing the builds in an more efficient way."

5.
Funny thing is, that some builds that ppl claim are dead now are not dead. They are just slower and do not superclear anymore. Which is exactly what GGG is striving to do. Try to understand the developer guys, and their motivation behind changes.

Exactly they stated that they decided not to update POE1 to POE2 because game will be different and that's why we keep POE1 it was plainly stated why and what's the difference. And as final thought no one was forced to beta test product, as that's what we exactly we do right now.

probably the most objectively correct and top level headed post in all of the patch note's threads.

if copying a busted build from some streamer makes you wanna quit the game just because you're used to what POE1 was like. okay, just go back to POE1.

if your own subjective feeling told you "build is super crazy, bombing entire screen with only a single button pressed" why didn't you think further "hey this might be a bit too crazy for a game where all other classes play out different from what I've seen"

you simply want the easiest most comfortable solution to play the game and this is not gonna work in an environment where devs clearly stated it will be more challenging than the first iteration of the game.

as previously mentioned: "its on you"...

HOWEVER,
- I do agree that free respecs should be included during early access, not only to prevent bricked characters after changes, but also to encourage EVERYONE to try out the entirety of the passive skill tree with no costs, thus providing even more feedback
- Tip of advice: multiple stacked cast-on-x conditions still work perfectly... just adapt.

having a blast with the game :) good job GGG

I did not (shame on me) realize that was POE2's vision. In the way y'all are describing it, had I come to the same realization/understanding, I 10000% would not have even attempted to play/support it. I was naively hoping it would be a sort-of reset of POE1, simplifying crafting/mechanics where you didn't need a doctorate to understand it all and making the new-player learning curve a lot less, all while making the game great and massively improved. It appears I was dead wrong.

I'm marching right back to POE1 as this is the game-style I much more desire. I'm not hating on POE2... I'm just now realizing though it's not going to be for me. :(

The truth is it will not work with whatever trigger skill you want.

My "cast on shock" went from getting 20 energy per shock to 2 and from needing 160 total energy to 300. Do the math.
Using Arc as my main damage skill (slow and heavy hitting) and factoring in that shock proc is chance based, it takes minutes to see one CoS proc.

I might as well slot the spell I was using with CoS in my bar and use it manually. Cast on Shock was deleted from game.
Can we please get ruthless mode for POE2? The way this is going POE2 will just be a reskin of POE1 with loot drop increases…also just delete trigger gems. They should just be for support purposes, not for main damage.
I'm not the most experienced ARPG player—I've only played the other big competitor's games—but I'm in love with PoE2. However, as someone fairly new to your franchise, I feel that skill respecs should be free, especially during the early access period. Free skill respecs would greatly lower the barrier to entry and reduce the impact of the inevitably frequent rebalances in EA. I really hope this will be implemented.

After the patch, my build—which I specced without looking at any guide—is completely bricked, and as a new player, it doesn't feel great.

I did not expect to come here and literally burst into laughter. Thank you GGG. Sorry to anyone affected by the new status quo though.
It's hilarious to literally read someone say "I saw such and such streamer/youtuber doing this after a previous nerf so I followed them blindly to CoC from CoF" and then proceed to watch CoC get nerfed and them cry about it. Thanks for the laughs GGG the game is still amazing. Maybe try being more original with your builds instead of blindly following along content creators crazy I know.
