GGG - Stand true to what you said about player feedback
" LOL such arrogance. Who told you that YOU are the target audience? "lost with poe1"? What???? PoE built it's own army of fans over the years and if you didn't like it it's your problem. That army is not happy with what they see. I play Diablo2 since it was released and went through all it's ups and downs and you're certainly not the target audience for it either. It's funny how newbs try to pose as vets. Diablo2 was good, but it was an easy game, when LoD came out it got even easier. Do you remember bugged items ear on Battle.net? Ith blade baba doin cowruns? Ama with titans clearing 2x screens one shot? I bet you don't. It was commonplace and every ladder (that was introduced later). Anyway, PoE2 issues are obvious. Horribad cast when moving stuff is getting on my nerves. It's preposterous. Give us a switch in options or a "disable" button in skill itself, like it was in PoE1. For starters. Difficulty can be managed, although including Sanctum as a mandatory task is another blasphemy. I want to see Chris Willson doing it on a lvl 21 warrior with perfect honor. LOL Ciao fake vet. |

" As a D2 vet, even in hell, was always beatable. Sure my progression wasn't ever fast but it was always consistent when going through acts / areas. Maybe I was the 1% back then but I SERIOUSLY doubt it. I do believe that there is one thing that PoE2 doesn't necessarily "give you" in order to be successful -- and that's reaction/processing speed. My reactions are good enough for PoE1 and the tools + time it gives however with a tighter focus on similar Dodge-or-Die mechanics in PoE2 I'm finding that I'm just barely failing to dodge too often. Not anything that oneshots me but I fail often enough to put pressure on my life flask. Also given that my damage uptime is low and I don't see a way to significantly improve it my fights become a battle of attrition and even when I win deathless it's not particularly fun. When I'm more "relieved" that a boss is dead instead of happy or feeling a sense of accomplishment there's something that's just a little off and I do feel there's an over reliance on at least being "average" when I assume I clearly have sub-standard reactions / pattern recognition. |

" Are you also convinced that the Earth is flat or that a Prince from Nigeria needs your help [and bank account number]?? No I didn't think so -- of course not. However you're convinced that gamers [often vets of D1, D2, early D3, PoE1, etc.] aren't doing ARPG basics which is fairly insulting or trolling in and of itself. I know for myself I'm out of regals, exalts, socketing orbs, and items to disenchant / salvage. I've fished at vendors hoping to find a good blue to make into a better rare ; I've even tried gambling a bit but it seems to give a poor return on investment. In terms of the passive tree I've split my points between mitigation, recovery, and offense. In terms of skill gems I've tried to sit down, look for combos & synergies, possible skill rotations, and to maximize my damage uptime against bosses. In terms of gearing I value life, life recovery, and any damage avoidance or mitigating stats .. favoring mitigation [armour & res] in my case. I've gone through my "character sheet" and tried to plug up any gaping holes with runes & socketing -- I wouldn't call that crafting but whatever. While mapping I take a cautious approach, fallback if needed, engage the enemy on my terms [use environment when possible .. kite when appropriate], hit them with a setup skill and a finisher [usually two button presses for a tight back] and move to the next group. The only mechanic I'm aware of that I'm TRYING to engage with but am failing at an unacceptably high rate is the Dodge-or-Die style mechanics. I believe that by the time I [and likely other] process their surrounding and start to make a decision on what to do it's ALREADY too late or darn close to it. While I can't claim to have gotten stuck on a boss more than about 5 times just barely missing an obvious mechanic is super frustrating. It's not like it's hard either -- red circle bad .. not stay in red circle isn't a challenging mechanic other than to see it there and then move out of the way in time. |

" I agree in the sense I think it's important to listen to where they're coming from.. People ignoring resources the game provides to overcome challenges are just not going to play the game. A death report that points at your defense stat sheet would probably help a lot of people. More runes/artificers in early acts I think would be a boon to everyone in this forum thats stuck in a1-3. |

I dont get it. I was excited for PoE 2 because I love PoE 1, not because I hate PoE 1 and want a sequel that is the complete opposite.

" Fake vet... yeah no. I don't private my profile. I play the shit out of this game, grim dawn, d2, everything. I ONLY play ARPGs. Same with my entire guild. We play group self found in all of them for the best experience. Last edited by Kaboinglefop#0955 on Dec 9, 2024, 4:56:15 PM

" same here. |

" thanks! unfortunately I think any positive feedback will be drowned by all the whinging and then we will fall down the path of PoE1... and poe2 will stop being special |

Anyone claiming "true PoE fans" don't like this game have not played the game long enough. PoE was way harder than PoE 2 at one point. This game is like a watered down version of original PoE but with some difficult boss fights sprinkled in that make sure you know what you're doing before you're allowed to proceed, which is great. Otherwise you end up at maps with a complete trash build and you're hardstuck.
The whiners all copy pasta builds, clear the story in like 10 minutes and then complain that they can't do the same in this game and they actually have to turn their brain on. It's so insane to me. |

If I'm reading the posts correctly, it is mostly the "veterans" of PoE1 complaining about this game's "difficulty", and saying the game is bad, while everyone who enjoys the game and fits it fun and good is apparently a "tourist"?
Which makes it literally the first community ever where veterans pride themselves on struggling with fights and mechanics noobs / "tourists" tell them are not that difficult. Isn't it usually supposed to be the other way around? lol It's extra funny when "veterans" point out how new you are to the game when you tell them that the game is, in fact, not very difficult, like it isn't the self-own it is. There is something odd about how much this forum in particular seems to pride itself on sucking at a game and wears it as a badge. It's like a cock comparison, just negative. I'm new to PoE / ARPGs, and y'all are fucking weird. Last edited by Fae_Lyth#6750 on Dec 9, 2024, 6:50:09 PM
