POE2 Win11 24H2 Crashes - Constant crashing, >100% CPU usage, and more

Yeah, I can't go back to 23h2, unfortunately, but I don't believe this is a 24h2 issue. It does look like it's the game's issue of handling computer resources.
im on windows 11 23H2 and i have been experiencing the hard crashing to the point it took me multiple attempts just to get my pc to come back on properly , i can confirm it is the game and not my system as i have tested loads of other games and stress tested it without a problem
Started getting the zoning crash yesterday. Today I could get to character select then crash, now it's crashing before character select...awesome.

I just rolled my PC back to 23H2. Seeing if this helps.

Apparently the current Windows 11 version 24H2 is causing issues.

My recommendations is literally rollback your system. Apparently you can do this 10 days or so after the update or something. Don't quote me on that part.

The video below is available for those who want a visual aid. Also, there is a secondary method for uninstalling the current version. Although, if possible I recommend the first method; As it is the easiest.

STEPS

Open Settings --> System

Under System --> Recovery

Under "Recovery options":
-->Go back
(click this, don't worry about checking for updates)

You should have read this thread, or the other two with 500 pages.

This is not a Win 11 24H2 issue. I have Win 10, I crash. People crash on Win 11 23H2. People crash on Linux.

Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam.
I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do:
1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad.
2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review.
3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there.

shocked this is still an issue. game is borderline unplayable. myself and a few friends have opted out of playing for the last week because its such an inconvenience. fingers crossed for a fix soon
For some reason the latest stability patch that allegedly fixed some crashes made this issue even worse. I now crash in every other loading screen, making the game completely unplayable. Limiting CPU usage does absolutely nothing, any other setting in the game seesm to have no effect, the only thing that fixes the problem is turning off mulithreading but that tanks my FPS to below 20. It's not auto-HDR, it's never been enabled on my PC and I still get the crashes. Does anyone know if GGG made a statement regarding this issue?

Upgraded to Windows 11 24H2 today, coming from Windows 10. I thought that Win 11 would finally be patched enough so that it would be okay to update... well! Seems like I chose the worst time to do so.

PoE2 crashes my whole system when teleporting to different zones now, same as people have been describing in this thread.

Reverting back to 23H2 won't help unless you revert back to the 23H2 version prior to the August 2024 Windows Update anyway.

Someone mentioned in a Windows tech forum that the more recent 23H2 versions INCLUDES the same CPU scheduler issues that 24H2 has. They added that to 23H2 when they began the 24H2 rollout, thinking it would make the eventual upgrade for everyone over to 24H2 smoother. lol. I don't know the exact KB update # it was in, but it was supposed added this past summer.

You'd have to revert back to an older version of 23H2 AND disable windows update from trying to reapply the latest updates for it. But that's risky because even if POE2 works on it, all the other games you have might run worse. Plus you're losing a few months of security updates.
Windows 11 23H2 (Steam), AMD 5800X3D, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, 32BG DDR4 3200, Samsung 980 Pro SSD
this is just unplayable at the moment, constant crashes of the game also sometimes restarting whole pc
