POE2 Win11 24H2 Crashes - Constant crashing, >100% CPU usage, and more

There seems to be an issue with Win11 update 24H2 that is causing constant crashing, especially while changing zones. The crash conditions always feature a CPU usage of 100%, and leads to a full system freeze. I have one other friend who is also experiencing this crash, who is on 24H2. Several of my peers are running 23H2 or below, and are not experiencing the same crash.

Through my online research, it appears that NVIDIA drivers are not the cause, and there is a broad range of players with different hardware setups seeing this crash. Renderer does not appear to make a significant impact on frequency of crashes, though in my personal experience, DX12 crashed significantly more often due to D3D12 errors. Vulcan had less crashing in my case.

Users facing this issue appear to circumvent the crash by disabling Multithreading in game before zone transitions. Some other users report success by limiting CPU threads to the PoE client .exe in task manager.

I'm the friend also experiencing this issue. CPU usage increases rapidly on loading screens and then jumps to 100% on crashes.

For the time being, I'm disabling multithreading prior to changing zones and then re-enabling once I've loaded into a new zone which is obviously a less than ideal workaround but it does appear to be preventing crashes as a short-term solution to keep playing.

I'm also having this issue, removing the last thread used by the process seems to fix the entire system crash, however the game will crash at some point.

I just updated to Version 24H2, and my entire PC is now freezing to the point I have to manually power off my PC, very frustrating.

32GB DDR5 5200MHz RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
Microsoft Windows 11 Home (64-bit) (Version 24H2)

But yeah, I am seeing the exact same issue on CPU usage before everything goes upside down.

Okay, just a heads up I was able to get some stable play in. I frankly don't know what setting I change that resolved, but I did the following:

* Turned off NVIDIA Reflex
* Turned off Engine Multithreading
* Went into Windowed Fullscreen Mode
* Lowered various video settings (though I this was to combat lower performance in town)

Hope that helps someone! It hasn't frozen or crashed in at least 40 minutes of gameplay. I'll update if I do run into another crash though

Same issue here. CPU usage spikes and my PC locks up so hard I have to hold the power button down, which is super unacceptable.

7800X3D/4080/64GB RAM/Windows 11 24H2.

I tried BES to limit the games CPU usage, this did not work.
I changed to Vulkan from DX12, this did not work.
I limited framerate, this did not work.
I turned off multithreading, this did not work.

I think I'm done chasing fixes and attempting to play this game until GGG releases a patch to resolve the problem.

Same situation here, i try everything you can imagine, but the game still shutting down my PC.

After experiencing crashes where cpu useage didn't get to 100% but instead rose quickly and abruptly from ~5-10% to 60%+, I've added poe to an exception to windows virus+threat protection in the off chance that the rapid rise in cpu usage experienced during loading screens is triggering some sort of antivirus shutdown mechanism.

I'm also experiencing this with my 9800 x3d chip and 24h2 the only work around is to constantly disable multi-threading and re-enable it once I've loaded which is obnoxious. If GGG can at least say this is or isn't something they can fix I'll just reinstall Windows 10 which is crazy but if it works I just want to play this game
