POE2 Win11 24H2 Crashes - Constant crashing, >100% CPU usage, and more

Microsoft literally acknowledged the issue on their part and people still think its not a 24H2 problem and pretending like GGG ignores them is ridiculous.

AMD 9800X3D Nvidia 4090 Constant crashes of entire PC with PoE2 everything else is fine. Tried all the suggested solutions, nothing works. Sent the dxdiag report to GGG. |

" This is not a Windows 11 issue. All kinds of OS and OS versions have this problem. There are people with Linux with this problem. I am on Win 10, I have it since day 1. Also that particular windows 11 problem is that Windows' "New Feature" was blocking the program's access to system resources, therefore crashing the program but never crashing the PC itself. The problem PoE2 has is that program is hogging all available system resources due improper usage of system APIs, therefore crashing the program AND the PC itself. (Technically it crashes the OS because OS can no longer get the resources it has to in order to function properly). Furthermore, I ask anyone who sees this message to please give a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam. I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do: 1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad. 2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review. 3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there. |

PoE showed as PoE1 instead of PoE2 in the NVidia app.
Do whatever it takes to make it show correctly in the NVidia app and you will not have any crashes anymore. Tested it myself, no crash anymore. Here's some suggested ways to make it show correctly in the NVidia app: 1. Uninstall POE2 and if you have it POE1 as well. 2. Important... delete both POE1 and 2 folders from your Documents/ My Games folder. 3. Do a search on your drive(s) for anything "Path of Exile", highlight all results and delete the files and folders then do the same search for "Grinding Gears" just in case there's any remnants that may be there. Then, empty your recycle bin! 4. Clean your shader cache... empty that sucker. 5. Rerun a scan in Nvidia App and make certain Path of exile is gone from your installed games. 6. Restart windows. 7. Do a fresh install of POE2 only (don't install POE1) Or 1. Try reinstalling the NVidia app 2. Start the game from the NVidia app |

" This is a placebo. Remember that the crash is ubiquitous across all brands of GPUs and CPUs, Nvidia drivers cannot explain the reason behind AMD GPU crashes. The part that works somewhat is "Clean your shader cache", which lengthens the time between crashes in some cases. " I dont even have the nvidia app. Just install the game ready drivers without installing the extra overlay stuff. Windows already has its own overlay. GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER

" If you have these very specific crashes: Entire pc freezes during loading screens, mouse becomes unresponsive, pc has to be hard restarted Then go back to 23H2 and you should be good. At least this 100% fixed it for me and some others. GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER

" Your argument of calling me a shill for the company is pathetic. Im merely suggesting to try a fix, which takes 5 minutes to try, which completely fixed my crashes as well. And you are asking everyone to review bomb the game on Steam, because you have an issue lol. Of course the game also crashes for some people on 23h2, its just worth a shot if the issues are similar to mine. GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER
