POE 2 is fantastic, and i hope the devs don't listen to the vocal minority

The game is amazing, the soundtrack is unbelievable, the voice acting and story telling is great, the visuals are immaculate and the attention to details is unmatched. I often find myself stopping and zooming in to look at stuff, it's beautiful.

Gameplay wise, i love it. Monster diversity is so high it feels a bit unreal, so many monsters, and somehow they all feel a little unique with their kits, its impressive stuff! I also really enjoy how much slower but impactful it feels, big attacks that require a set up do big damage, slams are really slamming, stunning bosses is incredibly cool. Every single boss is animated so well, design is top notch, couldn't ask for more.

I've been exploring every single zone until there's not a single spot on the map i haven't gone to, graphics and the music paired together makes me feel really immersed, although sometimes i wish i was moving a little bit faster lol, could use more movement speed nodes on the skill tree. The skill gems are really cool, i love being able to browse skills and support gems to see what i would like to unlock or try now. It's like having a Lily Roth in your inventory, but you get little videos and explanations on what the skills do? Insane quality of life, you can hover any words that you don't understand and it will explain what it is in details. It's like the game has an built-in WIKI, it's nuts! The amount of work and polish is crazy, never seen that in any other games.

Overall my experience has been nothing but positively shocking, this is probably the best early access game i've ever seen. Can't imagine what its gonna be like on full release, my god!

But I am quite stumped by seeing the negative reviews, i really hope Jonathan keeps going in the direction he wants and doesn't bend to the few people who complain the game is bad or too hard. I find the difficulty to be far below any dark souls games. If i had to find a difficulty rating i would say it's "fair". If you don't pay attention and you get mesmerized by the boss design like me and you get hit by a big attack, yeah you might die O-S or get chunked to like 1% hp, but if you really pay attention, it's relatively easy, at least for now.

Also in terms of stability, i've been leaving it open in the background, doing stuff, it's not crashing or anything, and if you disconnect because of server issue, you go back to where you were in the map! Saves you so much time, it's awesome.

Honestly this is a absolute gem of a video game. Thank you GGG for all the hard work that was put into this, it shows!

Cheers!

Whether it's a vocal minority or not will be clear soon enough as we see the retention numbers.
Im gonna report all the things i can find that are negative or could be improved.

Here in Mawdun Quarry there's a checkpoint and then a big trunk in the middle of a encampment, opened it and it dropped nothing. Kind of a bummer considering how secluded is it from the normal map area, thought i had found a little secret stash.

Hard disagree. Over 30 millions people play Fortnite daily, and i think it's one of the worse game ever made. 130 millions active users on League of Legends, the game is an horribly unfun toxic mess. The majority doesn't mean it's good. I would give Fortnite a 1/10 and league a 3/10 but no ARPG is ever going to hit those numbers. Shouldn't try to.

Downgrading the game to please the masses will lose both the real supporters and the masses eventually because they'll go get their dopamine on the next cool trendy game that came out. These people jump on trend because it's cool, because they see their favorite streamer do it, you can't listen to these voices is all im saying.

We already know that ruthless is not popular in POE1. I don't think the current POE2 balancing and design philosophy will be either. Player retention of the current version of POE2 will reveal a lot is all I'm saying.
I'm loving the game. Like you said..the polish is amazing and some nice QoL features already in EA is fantastic. I'm a bit surprised so many are complaining so much about the difficulty. Not because it's not hard..it is. But rather because this *IS* EA. I don't doubt they will tweak things whether it's mob difficulty or player power (they already had some of this even though I think it was just a nerf of a particular skill).

I like that the pacing/difficulty is different than PoE and that it's more deliberate combat. I also see where people are coming from on the difficulty. I think it's probably a bit too hard but not a lot. I'm not that far into the game yet but some of the regular trash mobs are just insanely powerful and I'm guessing the leveling experience will vary GREATLY depending what class/build you pick and your overall skill level. IMO they could probably smooth out the ramp of difficulty a bit but I hope they don't do it too much. It doesn't have to look/play like PoE1 to be good.

Overall the game is pretty solid and performance is pretty good. I have been crashing periodically but not enough to ruin my experience. Again, this *IS* EA. I expected bugs, crashes, performance issues, balance changes and maybe even class changes. Keep up the great work GGG!
Completely agree. I am using the mercenary and once you figure him out the game is amazing. Each type of monster requires the use of a different weapon to kill them easier/faster so you need to become real good at weapon swapping. Once you get the hang of that and combining poison grenades with it you clear maps so much faster. Bosses are hard but so much fun once you figure out each one's weakness and use the weapon that exploits his weakness the most.

I have not tried the other characters yet but I have a feeling you might need to follow a similar concept as in use certain abilites/elements to kill certain mobs faster, I get the point now of GGG me tioning it could be good to spec into multiple types of elements in the passive tree.

I have movement speed now on boots and close to adding more in the passive tree, already things are speeding up there too. Can't wait to unlock the weapon swop speed too. Gonna be insane.
Yeah I'm loving it too!
