Network lag

Have the same issue, network spikes on maps (stable 3 ms in hideouts or hubs), network ranging from 70-10 to 3k plus, which normally results in death.
Pretty sure it's server side, started this evening for me from the end of act 6
Was playing just fine, but yesterday got same thing. I guessed it has been some servers outrage, so I quit playing for a few hours, then came back and it was fixed indeed. Today it started again, though, and been about 3 hours this far. One thing I noticed that I'm getting high latency anywhere BUT towns (player hubs).Inside hubs its 2-3 ms, outside = 40ms minimum, usually spikes between 80 and 160, with up to 1000+ freak jumps.

Oh, and also I've tried playing PoE 1 to see if maybe it's the servers (guessing same servers maybe) , but it's buttersmooth 1-3 ms there.
It isn't really a bug, instance servers are overloaded and when you enter new location, instance is either created somewhere far, far away, or server starts rationing resources between too many instances. Both options lead to client seeing large ping fluctuations which make game unplayable due to lockstep.

Tbh I got tired of spam creating new instances in order to maybe get a stable one with my usual latency (28 ms)
For 3 locations recreating instances yielded stable latency result in 3 to 10 attempts, on 4th I gave up and quit. Guess you have to play this game when your geographic region is sleeping.

I'm alright with instance resetting in campaign, but getting bad instance in maps ususally means death or the waypoint lost, which is time lost, which can be frustrating. I'm wondering if that's only on ziggurat first 10 maps, or hideouts as well
Also on streamers its somehow perfectly fine:)

Think im at the point of just going back to poe1 till they fix poe2 servers..I cant even start a new class because the lag spikes.
Same issue here, AT&T Fiber via Sonic in the SF Bay Area, California.

Sometimes it's insanely bad, sometimes it's less bad. Hoping on a VPN generally improves performance, but doesn't always completely solve the issue.
Chiming in with the same issue -- AT&T Fiber in Orange County, CA.

It seems to be mostly during peak hours -- it'll spike from 20ms to 500-600ms every 5 seconds or so, making the game hard to play.

Optimistic that GGG will look into it. :)
