disable multithreading when tping sometimes
and clear d12 cache
I didnt have crash last 3 days
I've been having the crashing on loading areas as well. I seem to have fixed the issue so far by setting the affinity for PathOfExileSteam.exe in my task manager to use all but one core. No crashes since on about 6 area loads. Here's my PC info:

AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
NVidia 3080
Windows 11 V 24H2

I'll edit this post if the crashing comes back.

Send the best message of them all, don't play or use process lasso and just limit the affinity and deal with crash to desktop instead of freezes.
I have been playing this game for two weeks now. Almost every day, the screen freezes six to seven times on average whenever it is loading. This issue has been troubling me for a long time

AMD 7800X3D
4080S
Windows 11 Version 24H2
Rolling back the windows update KB5048667 was the only thing that has given me an extended time without the hard crash issue. I will update if the freezing and hard resetting continues.
Hi All
Here is the temporal solution to the freezing issue: Disable Hyper-Threading (Intel) or SMT (AMD) in the BIOS.

How to disable it in the BIOS:
Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings. This is usually done by pressing Del, F2, or a similar key during startup (check your motherboard manual if unsure).
Navigate to the Advanced Settings, CPU Configuration, or a similar menu.
Look for an option labeled Hyper-Threading, SMT, or CPU Logical Processors.
Set the option to Disabled.
Save the changes (usually by pressing F10) and exit the BIOS.
Restart your computer.

Edited:Probably works only on AMD

Glad to help

What sort of performance nerf is this? What FPS were you getting prior to this change and post change?

can anyone confirm this works?
After getting approximately 10 crashes per hour and trying everything I got a solution for myself.
Disabling 2 cores didn’t work for me at first. Even disabling random cores didn’t work. So, I entered the game and disabled multi thread option (the game only uses one core and one thread) I checked which one the game was using. For me was CPU6 CPU7. I unchecked the multi thread thing in game went to task manager and disabled that core (CpU6 CpU7). Worked for me. No crashes no freeze. Max settings - ~ 180fps. I’m going to use this “solution” in the meantime
Same issue, Windows 24H2, can keep mouse control, but PC doesn't respond to any input and have to hard reset.
