Had the same issue, This is what worked for me:

1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator:

Press Win + S to open the search bar.

Type cmd.

Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

2. Run the DISM Commands:

In the Command Prompt window, type the following commands one by one and press Enter after each command:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
3. Run the SFC Command:

After the DISM commands have completed, type the following command and press Enter:

sfc /scannow

4. Wait for the Scans to Complete:

The scans might take some time to complete. Be patient and let them finish.

5. Review the Results: (Optional)

Once the scans are complete, the Command Prompt will display the results. If any issues were found and fixed, it will let you know.

Did this and it found two corupted files(something to do with bluetooth, tho my computer doesn't have bluetooth...) and reparied them. Now let's see if it works.
I can play in one area, and after I switch from one to another I have to do a hard reset.
Sometimes it even freezes in the main menu....

AMD 5600x
Win 11 24h2
RTX 3080 (566.36)
9800X3D 4080 super game still unplayable hard crashing constantly. I’m done trouble shooting and won’t be playing til this issue is addressed

Have we had any statement from GGG other than 'we are investigating'?

No, nothing. They will keep pretending we don’t exist while stealing our money.
UPDATED 12/10/2024

Based on the replies in this thread, reddit, and elsewhere on the internet, as well as examining poster's different PC and Windows configurations, here's what appears to NOT be causing the freezes/crashes:

Windows Build 24H2 - people are having freezes and crashes on Windows 11 23H2 and Windows 10 22H2 as well.

AMD or Intel CPUs - people with both Intel and AMD CPUs are having the same issues.

AMD X3D CPUS - people using regular X AMD CPUs, as well as non-X AMD CPUs are having the same issues.

Windows 7 Compatibility Mode is NOT solving the issue for all people.

Disabling CPU cores, Undervolting CPU and/or Undervolting GPU are NOT solving the problem for all people.

Disabling every graphic POE setting to the most bare bones level or turning them off is NOT solving the problem for many people.

Switching the API (DirectX, Vulkan, etc...) is not solving the issues for many people.

UPDATE 12/10/2024

Nvidia RTX GPUs - people with AMD Radeon GPUs are also reporting the same issues.

Reverting back to older drivers - people rolling back to older GPU drivers are still having issues.

-Just keeping this updated so people and GGG know this is a very widespread issue with little or no common factors on the client-end (aka the player's PCs or system builds), that we are aware of anyway.
Windows 11 23H2 (Steam), AMD 5800X3D, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, 32BG DDR4 3200, Samsung 980 Pro SSD
Still crashing...

7800x3d
4070 TI super
32gb ram
w11 23h2
I get that most gaming companies review threads with issues that are occurring and post a "known issues" thread to basically inform everyone as to what they know is going on with their game.

However, with that being said, this issue has been going on since launch and there hasn't been a single update from GGG with their technical team to post a single reply with ANY Troubleshooting issues whatsoever.

I understand that there is a lot to take on with the Early Access release of the game, but technical issues far outrank that of game issues period. These hard crashes can cause serious PC issues and must be taken as high priority over much of anything else.

At some point, a technical advisor needs to start coming into the forums or discord and getting more knowledge into the situation and at least conversing with the public not only as a way to show face, but also to at least let us know something is progressing. While the game is 30 dollars, a lot of us spent a LOT more money than that buying this game only to have to turn around and not play the game because of ridiculous crashing and pc locking.

At this stage in the game, it is not a "Free game." When you purchase a product, at least show signs that any and all issues that are happening will be addressed in a timely manner. This type of issue is 100% detrimental to any PC that has it.

Also - no we shouldn't go back through 82 pages of a forum to try what people are saying. It's a lot to sift through. At least create a thread from a moderator stating "Try these things and post your feedback."
It's listed in the "Known Issues" post that is sticky atop this forum so they know about it, they are working on it, and they gave feedback that they do.
No progress. Still crashing. Im afraid to even keep trying to play till a patch note references load screen lock ups / freezes

The way to work around this problem for me is that, every time before loading into another zone, I disable 'Engine Multithreading'. As long as this was disabled, I never got a freeze. Could you guys try this and let me know if this also works for you? If so, I might as well just keep it disabled all the time till there is a fix.
