As long as GGG is not interested in open communication our only other option is to increase the pressure and warn others by giving a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner.

For those still looking for a fix, this combo works for me:

My system: Ryzen 7 5700X / RTX 4070 Super/ 32GB DDR4

Vanilla experience: Game at some point freezes on a loading screen locking up system , after that it would lock up on one of the 1st loading screens until shader cache is cleared than it'll work for an hour before starts crashing again.


Fix:

Version 1.3 of PoE Uncrasher (with 1.4 i get way more crashes)

after a crash clear your shader cache

delete all in:
%AppData%\Roaming\Path of Exile 2\ShaderCacheD3D12

or if you use vulkan:
%AppData%\Roaming\Path of Exile 2\ShaderCacheVulkan


Run PoEUncrasher, give it admin permission, run PoE 2.


I'll still get maybe 1 crash every couple days (playing 4 - 6hrs a day) or so and it never locks up my system. I find it crashes even less with Vulkan (im actually having trouble remembering if it even did once), but Dx12 performs and looks better, so I put up with the occasional crash because I'm shallow and my vanilla experience has desensitized me to crashes that don't lock up your entire system.

Maybe that's part of their plan? lol

I have about 130 hours in the game and so far I have had crashes where the game just freezes and closes but those were may be once every couple of days. Since two or three days ago the game crashes every 5-10 min. At the moment of the crash my CPU is at about 45% and GPU at around 60%. I have tried a lot of fixes that are out there but nothing has worked so far.

I haven't tried the Uncrasher app but I think I will just go back to PoE 1 until this is fixed.

I thought the latest patch might have fixed it, tried and went another 15+ hours with no crashes, then happened twice in same day (on map loading screen, same deal). Not even trying again until next patch

The hard crash code GGG have implemented cannot send messages during hard crash most of the time. Because by the time the crash happens the system has been locked up(frozen). They can see the crash itself but cannot learn anything new from that code, other than the triggers. Triggers, which they should have been able to know if they were actually working on it.

This seems to be the appropriate thread for my issue as well. They game has become unplayable in the last 18 hours for me. Every time I enter a map from hideout my computer freezes and I have to hold reset. I'm not doing that anymore. Bad part is I don't know how I'll know the problem is fixed without risking the hard restart.

indeed it s my skills , but for some random person on this 200k view forum , there might be another person dumb like me :) fixing pcs involves quite some luck sometimes.

Same issue here.

config 3080 + 5700x + 32go DDR4 3600.

Freeze when I use a portal, connexion lost => since 24H2 WINDOWS.

Please fix.
