Hey guys, i'm trying to do the recoup build and i just feel super weak, i die to regular 6 mod maps, what am i missing?

I was reviewing your guides paintmaster, had a few questions.

CoA versus CoC. you suggest CoA procs more for clearing?


does Remnant potency actually do anything for siphon elements and infusions?
what exactly then does it?

You missing couple things, one is Megalomaniac Jewel with Adverse Growth for 20% Mana Recoup, they go for 3 Div https://www.pathofexile.com/trade2/search/poe2/Rise%20of%20the%20Abyssal/3qKwyME9F5

And second is Controlled Metamorphosis Jewel with Medium-Small Ring


Passives with yellow circle allocated with weapon set 1 passives, with red circle - normal passives

And get proper charms, atleast one for chaos recoup.

I'm not suggesting that CoA trigger more often, it simply does trigger more often, with Ice Nova, especially on low budget, since it has huge freeze buildup which freeze mobs in 1-2 casts, plus if using wand/staff with extra lightning/fire damage, it will also shock and ignite, which build even more energy. While CoC require higher budget to get crit chance so most of your hits build energy at all.

Remnant potency give more effect for remnants, idk how to test it to confirm it works and GGG didn't do something with code that cause it to have no effect.

yeah, I can't imagine Remnant potency actually doing anything for infusions.

Like, remember theres multiple kinds of Remnants. Mana remnants is also a remnant.
so, THAT getting 20% increased effect makes sense. 200 mana, being increased to 240 mana.
But infusions have to be don't really have effects. they are consumed to have effects.

Skillsetup I have some thoughts on as well.

I've been running with Nova as primary. with frostbomb, to generate infusions for stronger novas. and unleash weapon swap for also, stronger nova blasts.

Nova-spell echo, projection, considered, mag effect, faster casting2.
Its base aoe is pretty solid. and spell echo even gives +40% aoe on its second hit. in addition to being 100% more damage.
cascade absolutely hurts its clear, and energy generation.
deliberation... eh. yeah damage is good, but I cast this nonstop nearly while moving.
Rising tempest. eh. if you are using snap to keep it at 36% I guess.

frostbomb- overabudance 1, echo, harmonc remnants2, recovery2, shortfuse2.
this setup generates 2 cold infusions every CD baseline, can proc more.

frost darts. elem focus+considered+rapid2+conc effect+rising tempest.
I was doing the math, and I don't think multishot2 is worth.
2 proj for a skill that fires 1 shot like frostbolt is 200% more damage.
2 proj for frost darts, which is already firing 3 proj, is only 66% more damage.
so then, 25% less damage, and 20% less skill speed, thats .996% of base dps.

since frost darts can't apply chill, I just go all in there, and Elem focus. I dont care about it adding shock, or ignite either. (having it proc electrocute might be something)
I did what you suggested and it looks a lot better, however in some maps i just dont recoup any energy shield, and sometimes end up killing myself accidentally, is there something i'm doing wrong to cause this?
