"Early Access titles must deliver a playable game or usable software to the customer at the time of purchase, while pre-purchase games are delivered at a future date. Read more about Pre-Purchasing on Steam."
It is true, cope more
There is nothing here preventing preload...
In fact, if you even read the article linked there is absolutely nothing in it explaining that it is not possible for Early Access to offer preload
It doesn't even mention preload once
Read this part again: "EARLY ACCESS TITLES *must* deliver a playable game or usable software to the customer AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE."
what the fuck is the train of thought in your mind?

That really doesn't make any sense, simply because you can pre-purchase it anyhow. Lots of people have purchased and cannot play it still so that logic does not track.

Do you guys honestly think that GGG would purposely withhold pre-loading on Steam? You think they *want* to make Steam users mad?
Or is it more likely that they are unable to get Steam to agree to allow pre-loading of PoE2?
I'm pretty sure that GGG doesn't want to make a large portion of their user base angry if it is something that they can prevent.
Come on, guys, think about it a bit. You *really* think GGG is trying to make you mad? Or do you think they reached an impasse with Steam in which Steam is preventing them from offering pre-load?

Hmm that's weird because just 2 month's ago "throne and Liberty" started in early access and there actually was a preload on steam before the ea release. Heres the Quote from the official site
"The time is nigh— THRONE AND LIBERTY early access has nearly arrived. To ensure you’re ready to embark on your adventures in Solisium, an opportunity to pre-load the game will open on September 24, 10AM PT (5PM UTC) on Steam, Xbox X|S, and PlayStation 5 for those who have purchased an Early Access Pack.
What you gonna saay now?? huh??

Because you can't play the game on steam with standalone files, that's why. Just thinking you're smarter than anyone else doesn't actually make you smart.
You can definitley add any game(or not game) you want to steam to have the in-game overlay and such. and most of the time you CAN copy a games files into the install directory to "install" a game that was downloaded via a stand alone launcher. Most that would change is it will update the .exe's as required.

We already payed for it on Steam, and it will be playable... then ? Do you even understand what you are reading ?
It is just the first two mandatory points for a game to be considered as an Early Access...
The all beginning of the article is just about explaining the difference between an Early Access and Pre-Purchase of a "to be released" finished game
Still, it never talk or adress any point about preload
Steam even recommand preload for all games that exceed 20go

Bro it's definately not steam who doesn't allow preload for ea titles that's for sure. Throne and Liberty just released ea 2 months ago and they had preload on steam. So maybe you can enlighten us why it was allowed then and not now?

You CAN NOT currently purchase it through Steam. And you won't be able to until the servers open tomorrow.
But Steam can not prevent GGG from selling the game through their own website. They CAN, however, prevent people from downloading the game through Steam until the severs open.
Sure, what ever you say.
