POE 2 early access paywall

PoE is not a free-to-play game for a long time, already.
You can't progress through the end-game with all the game mechanics without buying stash tabs, at least. It is just impossible with basic 6 stash tabs.

It is like saying that you can have a fish-boat for free to travel through Atlantic ocean OR you can buy a seat on our cruise liner. Technically, the travel is free, but you can't do it on a boat.
PoE nowadays looks more and more like a fork server with tons of custom weird experimental stuff rather than original game with carefully thought out balance brough live to players.

It’s basically a free trial. You can play through the entire campaign and see if you like the endgame prior to paying for anything. Compare this to D4 where people paid $80+ to play through a campaign and realize there was no endgame.

I bet PoE reviews would be pretty bad if all the casuals paid a ton upfront to get merked by hillock or merveil and quit. Tytykiller was talking about a game journalist not even being able to beat one of the beginning bosses in PoE2 at the early test.
$30 is really fair imo, just look what other companies are doing

Ashes of creation charges $120 for alpha test keys that only last a few weeks
Blizzard asks $60+, annual $40 for expansion and still have a MTX shop
Then theres Ubisoft, EA.. etc

We also getting 300 points to spend that we might need anyway for potential new types of stash tabs

Sure free would be awesome, but cmon it's $30 thats like 3 kebabs nowadays and GGG worked more than 5 years on this

if they were truly free to play and completely relied on users' support, the company would have quit in year 3.

this game has the same development costs as any other and worse game (d3, yep), yet you think all people playing this game averagely spent the same as d3 users?

if you played poe for 10 years and spent less than 1000$, you leeched from those who overpaid. crazy, ey?

It is the same as Poe 1 beta.

No it's not! :) Back then GGG was still a seed-stage startup and did need all the financial support they could get. Today this is simply not the case.

Another small detail: Poe 1 closed beta was pay-to-join, but the open beta that followed was free to play.

i's not the same thing.

while in poe1 beta they needed the money to pay their devs and taxes, they now need to pay their taxes, their devs and make a good profit for 10c so they don't close the international realm.

it's capitalism baby, the system you all love and favour. and china is infected with it too.

You're missing the point, baby. The OP is not about why they would want some more money from you, but a simple and blatant issue with the value prop they are communicating.

what's prop? proposal, property, ....?

he was saying they don't need any money cause they got a sugar daddy now, i was simply pointing out that daddy expects a bonus payment at the end of the day for covering their ass in times of need when crazy ideas or projects didn't go as plannned.

they don't need any money

So, GGG cannot make a profit from their investment (dev cost?)

My fellow human,

This game is going to be incredible. Please proceed to pay the $30 measly dollars and be part of the beginning of the future.

Please rethink this post. A KFC family meal costs more than this.

Thank you.
