" Is it bad? If product is bad then this strategy works great (see disney and priorities change after recent financial disasters). Here we have product which can defend itself on its own and yes, such strategy can probably not make much of the change:) Simple demand and supply:) Last edited by Stregobor#0215 on Nov 27, 2024, 1:54:26 AM

" I am talking about money Politics. People with no money would have no vote. And people with lots of money would have lots of votes. Let say I am a billionaire. I buy GGG from Tencent and make POE 2 "pay to win" because I love money more than Tencent and GGG. There is probably nothing you can do about it. Theorectially, I outvoted you and it will make lots of money. |

" This sentence alone... So, they are a big company now, with funds, so no need to make more money and they can start doing charity? The game will be F2P, everyone knows that. Whatever being released on December 6th isn't "the game", it's an early access version of the game. They clearly want the tester to be motivated enough to spend a small amount to enter, or to have spent a "fair" amount in the past. In a market where AAA, full-priced games throw expensive MTX at you, and charge you extra for playing the game a few days earlier (via overpriced deluxe editions) to get an advantage over other players, I can't really see what GGG are doing as "predatory". Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Stop associating F2P with friggin charity. This is a business model designed to MAKE MONEY. And they want to make even more while employing beta testers that pay them for this "luxury".

I actually like their monetization except for the loot boxes even if cosmetic.
I occasionally pay a bit more for supporter packs and I am happy to do so. |

There are actually people in 2024 who believe that game developers give us F2P games out of the goodness of their hearts and not with the intention of making more money than a P2P game would provide them with.
