POE 2 early access paywall

If you don't think everything they've shown for EA is worth $30 then I don't know what to tell you.

By Christmas, I think we'll swim in early access keys.

Since our beta characters/stashes wont be migrated to standard, most of us will probably play for 1-2 weeks during the vacation, then wait for the official release.

Maybe but FYI the EA could go on for nigh a year.

It's good to see so many brand advocates here, but unfortunately you tend to miss the point of this thread. I'll spin it a bit differently then:
I won't be taking part in EA, but I'm ok with you paying GGG to test their game and get no reward in return if that makes sense to you. And make sure you do a good job testing, since I want a polished product when it comes out next year for me to try it for free. I'll leave it at that.

Thanks for letting us all know that you aren't at all salty about a nominal opt in fee for a beta and have fun not seething about it for the next year.

Ok, maybe not the official release, just the next league. They said there will be multiple leagues during EA.

you pay 30$ and you literally get 30$ worth of mtx back the key is free are you seriously gonna complain about that? maybe you rather pay 100$ for base game and another 40$ for one extra class?
people complain about early access costing 30 bucks, while there is alot of beta giveaways on reddit from the people who actually care about the game thats comeing

people complain about early access costing 30 bucks, but are also the kind of people who buy a wow expansion for 80+ bucks for guaranteed early access

people complain about early access costing 30 bucks, just for the sake of complaining, ignoring the fact that ggg wants actuall people testing and help fixing the upcoming game instead of trolls who abuse everything possible without any bugreport

people complain about early access costing 30 bucks, just so they can forgett for a momment that theyre favourite build will get nerfed in 3.26
Correct me if I'm wrong - I have to spend 30$ to get to early access (even if I decide to play in mid 2025) - if not I have to wait until it comes out of Beta to play for free?

Yes, you are right. It doesn't matter if you wait, gaining access won't get cheaper. But if you're really strapped for cash just keep browsing until you run into someone with a spare key. People are handing them out like candy.

Yeah they did. When you spend a few more years on this planet, you're gonna realize that nothing and I repeat _nothing_ in your life is for free. You might be unwilling to pay for it, but somebody else _must_.

And no, I'm not going to unpack it for you, so do not respond, unless you comprehend the above paragraph.

I don't need you to unpack anything for me. However, you seem to know something so how about you unpack it for GGG? Perhaps this game shouldn't be called free-to-play any longer? :)

Clearly you do need somebody to unpack it for you, since you missed the point entirely.
Supporter packs is how this company has funded development since its inception, so your bewilderment is beyond amusing to say the least.

To GGG:
You got a little too greedy this time, and your paywall will turn away some people sending a wrong message to a broader community.

You don't want to take part in EA because you don't get any reward?

They are offering you potentially hundreds of hours of entertainment over the next 6 months for 30 bucks....and giving you 30 bucks to spend in their cash shop for either POE 1 or 2 for helping to test their new game?

Your new spin is literally the worst complaint in this entire thread...
