POE 2 early access paywall

Correct me if I'm wrong - I have to spend 30$ to get to early access (even if I decide to play in mid 2025) - if not I have to wait until it comes out of Beta to play for free?

Yes, you are right. It doesn't matter if you wait, gaining access won't get cheaper. But if you're really strapped for cash just keep browsing until you run into someone with a spare key. People are handing them out like candy.

Yeah they did. When you spend a few more years on this planet, you're gonna realize that nothing and I repeat _nothing_ in your life is for free. You might be unwilling to pay for it, but somebody else _must_.

And no, I'm not going to unpack it for you, so do not respond, unless you comprehend the above paragraph.

I don't need you to unpack anything for me. However, you seem to know something so how about you unpack it for GGG? Perhaps this game shouldn't be called free-to-play any longer? :)

Clearly you do need somebody to unpack it for you, since you missed the point entirely.
Supporter packs is how this company has funded development since its inception, so your bewilderment is beyond amusing to say the least.

It's good to see so many brand advocates here, but unfortunately you tend to miss the point of this thread. I'll spin it a bit differently then:
I won't be taking part in EA, but I'm ok with you paying GGG to test their game and get no reward in return if that makes sense to you. And make sure you do a good job testing, since I want a polished product when it comes out next year for me to try it for free. I'll leave it at that.

To GGG:
You got a little too greedy this time, and your paywall will turn away some people sending a wrong message to a broader community.

You don't want to take part in EA because you don't get any reward?

They are offering you potentially hundreds of hours of entertainment over the next 6 months for 30 bucks....and giving you 30 bucks to spend in their cash shop for either POE 1 or 2 for helping to test their new game?

Your new spin is literally the worst complaint in this entire thread...

Quite a few people here tend to get hung up about certain dollar figures and their appropriateness, however the amounts are irrelevant. Whether the beta entrance fee is $30 or $3 or 3 cents it still doesn't make sense in principle.

Guys, it's very simple: a free-to-play game should have a free public beta.

And probably will have AFTER EA. Just like PoE had in past.

+1

What better way is there to truly test the serverS?

Would you rather them just charge 70$ for the game? It’s in a better state than any other arpg it seems so let’s just be happy it’s open and not a closed beta. They’ve always done this and looking at the work they’ve put in, they deserve to get paid for it. 30$ is nothing, other games charge that for a horse.
OP rather pay 70$ for base game with no endgame content and anotjher 40$ for extra class with once again no new endgame content but paying 30$ where is far more content than triple AAA games is not fine OP trolling
I doubt this game would exist if they weren’t making money to pay all the artists and developers. I personally have zero problem paying the artists alone for all of this content. They’re massive to whatever pops into my dreams at night haha. I just watched gladiator 2 and thought it felt very close to poes landscape of design.
Oh, yes, an early access fee - nay, PAYWALL - of $30. How dastardly of GGG.

How dare they ask us for our hard-earned money to play the early access sequel to a game that most of us spent a measly few thousand hours in.

A game from which all of our previous purchases, cosmetic and functional, is automatically transferred to the new one. Sick, corporate dogs!

If you can't scrape together $30 for this, it's time to look at your life and choices and get your s**t together. And don't you dare come at me with 3rd world/cost of living issues, I live in a 3rd world cesspool myself, and if you're even able to post on this forum and have the opportunity to play this game, you have nothing to complain about.
