Neither game is nearly fun enough to ignore all the feedback regarding unskippable campaigns.

The campaign only sucks the first playthrough in a new league. The rest of the time it's only what, 4 hours tops?

I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.
GGG is hellbent on carrying over the old shit that nobody likes in the brand new game and get this they are expecting different results because of marketing .

It's all subjective really. I like the campaign and I don't want D3 QoL over what we have now. Isn't campaign is just bunch of low level maps after all?

I like that "shit" so by definition you are wrong on your evaluation of how popular the content is.

The last few leagues I have played I actually ended up quitting incredibly early due to being burnt out of doing campaign.

Just cant do it anymore. Poe 2 will at least be fresh and I honestly think fewer acts with multiple difficulties feels better than long, slogs through something like PoE's 10 acts.

I would love some way to speed it up, because I blame the campaign for the last few times I quit 1 week into a league. By the time I make it to maps, even if I do, I'm already ready to just quit and move on, and that has happened quite a bit over the last year or 2.

I'm pretty sure im not the only player like this, who would actually play more during most leagues if I didnt have to slog through the campaign again. My friends who no longer play feel exactly the same way; they cant stand doing it again.

I definitely think they need a way to allow at least alts to skip the whole process after one character makes it through.

It is a NEW cmapaign.. it is impossible you will be burned from it in the next 6 months. Hwo about leave this topic for near the end of EA?

I may be in the minority, but I like playing through the campaign.

I'm in the same minority with you ;-)

It's the mindset really. I always look at campaign like at bunch of maps.

Assuming there was a skip, when would one earn it?

The way I see it, campaign is part of the game. A small part, but a part nonetheless. Less whining about campaign leaves more time to practice and get gooder at moving fast.

Whole lotta people in here think both games are fun enough to ignore feedback, but I guarantee they'll pipe up with some feedback when they actually play it.

I don't feel like anybody has made a coherent argument against giving players an alternate experience to the campaign. What you need to gain access to it, what it will actually be, if it would be revisited periodically as more league content goes core are all questions that could be answered.

They could also render that feedback moot just by making the campaign more fun.

The coherent argument is that is is a slippery slope! IF you can skip campaign..why not skip level 1 maps? Why not level 10 maps? Why not make you able to decide EXACTLY where you want to start including direclty at level 15 keystones?

It is a FACT< undeniable that you need to have a cutpoint, and I have not seen any argument why skip the campaign is a good cut point.

Alright, I'm gonna try to explain this. In your town you've got main street, right, and most of the traffic runs through there, but if you know where you're going you can take a different road, we'll call it 8th st, to get to your destination with less traffic via a side road. But your destination is just another road and 8th st is a toll road.

Now most people wouldn't mind if they opened 8th st but they'd really like it if they revitalized main street either. Nobody is actually talking about building freaking matter transporters from star trek for travel, we're talking about roads.

OP. this seems to be a pattern that a lot of modern corporate game companies and software companies do. keep promising, never deliver.

IMO the only way to force them to listen is for everyone or a lot to quit playing over it, I suppose. (I am not advocating that)

I've played this game since beta. I love it. I've been on a long break in part due to boredom with the campaign; the word/s I'd use to cut through is "life-sucking-boredom". Personally, I have gone through the campaign way too many times. I'm over it. I'd rather be able to just set the game to random generated maps or a set of maps that select from a pool of maps and scale to level automatically.

I do like that I know the ways to get through the campaign efficiently regardless which build I am working on and know what to avoid/skip when running certain builds. It has a nice familiarity.

(but I'd rather not now haha)
