The community is taking the delay really well. Surprisingly well.

Where are you getting this info from? We're still well within the now standard 4 months window. There's literally a timeline coming up soon.
Yeah and the timeline will most likely include the number 2025 in it.
Second-class poe gamer
Heh. Honestly? I've seen way more griping about 3.26 being late than I have about the PoE2 delay. Most all the PoE2 stuff I've seen is people being sad but understanding, or the very valid upset over being locked into PTO that no longer corresponds to PoE2's EA release. But a whole lotta folks have been kinda ugly over the lack of info on 3.26 and crusty over the extended stay of Settlers even though settlers is (as far as I've seen) widely hailed as a very good league.

Like, I get it - it doesn't feel great for 3.26 to get pushed back because the game you're less/not interested in is causing issues. But this is also an unprecedented situation that's generally only going to happen once. At no other point will they be releasing a whole-ass new flagship game alongside the normal 3.xx release cycle. The EA period for PoE2 will also be them working out how to best balance the needs of both games once the infamously dreaded "all hands on deck" situation clears up - and frankly I don't think the people responsible for game dev are impacted by this delay.

Your database engineers and backend people are not the ones doing dev work on new assets and mechanics for a league. The people currently pulling long hours with copious blood-caffeine levels are not the folks who're responsible for 3.26. Were those people AHOD for POE2? Probably, but if PoE2 itself is not behind then there's little need for those people to remain AHOD. Probably fine to divert them back to 3.26. Which is almost certainly going to be a pretty lightweight league because, y'know...PoE2. But hey.
my best guess is if you like POE youre a mature gamer.

scrubs/casuals would stray towards d4 or some other game.

with maturity you would most likely understand a delayed game is always better than a rushed game.

except of course duke nukem forever.

cyberpunk is a good game but was rushed before being fixed let alone getting it polished.

I thought it was an open beta and not the soft release of the full game so I didn't think anything of it. If they have to push it back even further til they have all hands on deck after the holiday season they should.

The only people the delay really affects are streamers with full time IRL jobs who wanted to make a big splash by streaming 18 hours per day the first few weeks and blew their vacations.
by this point the community knows to let the devs cook. Everyone wants poe2 to be the best game of all time. If we have to wait a few weeks more I for one will gladly do it.

as expected. it was pretty obvious that it would be delayed.

its weird that many people put so much into this release as tho its the fullgame, even planning vacation days for it.

This is why I've been criticizing the name change from beta to EA. Because of exactly this; players who aren't paying attention will think it's a nearly complete game, just like D4's early access.

Yes yes I know, the definition of EA has shifted to essentially mean "we'll charge you full price now including mtx even though it's no where near done, and we'll maybe update it from time to time". But there's still a lot of players who view early access as just getting the full game earlier.

And that's what I'm afraid of with PoE2. They've had FIVE years from announcement, and unless it was a giant joke that I fell for, the devs have said the EA will have a grand total of 3 acts, 10 ascendancies and next to zero end game. How much longer do yall think it'l take to flesh out 4 more acts, 26 more ascendancies and endgame?

And now that we're essentially all excited to star citizen the crap out of PoE2, pay to play and full purchase mtx in poe1, they've got no incentive to NOT drag it out. So yea, unless they were joking on what's complete, I wouldn't be surprised if Poe2 isn't 2+ years out.

Personally I love hearing people plan/take vacation days for stuff like this and then cry and mope when it doesn't work out.
