1% chance for my map runners to be killed in maps.
I woke up to losing FOUR map runners in 12 maps two days ago. Lost another 4 yesterday running 24 maps. Since I have been keeping track, my map runner death % is at 19.4%. All maps being run say 100% completion and 1% chance of death. I'm done with this gold sink trying to replace my t10 mappers. There is NO WAY that I hit that 1% THAT many times.
To put this is perspective, I have Conquered the conquerors selected for 2 weeks. It says that final bosses have a 2% base chance to drop a conqueror map. After completing about 1000 maps I have YET to have one drop. So what gives? How do I NOT get a conqueror map to drop but have map runners die constantly? It's a poorly implemented system and really just seems to exist for players to burn through resources when they have nothing better to do.
A much better way to have implemented this would be for the mapper to have a chance of success, but no perma-death penalty. The higher level your mapper, the better chance of success against the additional scaling of map levels and difficulty. You should really be able to have a level 1 mapper tackle a level 1 white map and still be able to complete it. Perhaps make it so they take longer to complete a map at lower levels too so you're incentivised to hire higher level mappers. Just unlocked the mapping option, threw a level 4 mapper at a basic level 1 white map - says he had a 27% chance of death. Less than 1 minute later and he's dead. Not surprising given the odds, but just what would a level 4 mapper be good for anyway? |

Current death average is roughly 10%. I lose 1 mapper every 10-12 maps. It's like clockwork.

it's very erratic, like no death for a very large amount of maps, let's say 50, then 2 death in 3 maps. Once again the 1% is maybe rounded up on screen but it could varies from 1,ooo1 to 1,9999 internally... ? Ask devs.
the rng can also be double-rolled or more, increasing streaks of luck / bad luck.. Again ask devs... |

4 map runners at 10, the other 2 at 9 and still regularly loose the t9 on white t14 segment maps
Theses guys remind me of how i play lol. Much better results from my ship mates so good bye map runners. Only good for trying to fail on maps i cannot do myself. | |
The league is fine but yes, the mappers suck in the worst way. I have not used any in the past month but the shipping is pretty good. Base game 100%, league mechanic (for me) 7/10, league mechanic mappers 0/10. But I understand that they would perhaps be OP if tuned up but this is absurd. I was losing a mapper every few maps just getting rid of my Tier 1-3 maps. That leads me to believe that the death rate is not weighted on map tier or difficulty.

i stopped buying rank 10 mappers now. to get one i need to spend 22k per turn to reroll. i need to reroll like 10 times before i find a rank 10 guy and he lasts maybe 2-3 days before he dies. not worth all the gold
