It is likely 1% per map runner.
1% per runner x 6 portals x 3 map devices x 12 maps per device = more often than you think :D | |
The chance rolling 2 6s is 2,8% btw and it happens all the time.
The chance that a map runenr dies in one out of 12 maps is much higher, even if it is 1% per map, therefore it happens all the time. | |
those mappers are ridiculously weak... 3 level 5 guys in white t1 map and they die by the 5th map!

I've had the opposite experience to some in this thread - the shipments have been unrelenting garbage, no matter what/how much I send, but my map runners have been regularly coming back with Valdo's boxes, divs, and other valuable things.
About 5 runners dead in ~250 t14 rares, so slightly higher than 1% expected death rate but not terrible. | |
I have spent millions of gold without a single lvl 10 mapper this past week. That alone has been enough for me to give up.

I think they should change it so mappers can get down to 0% death chance, if they overpower the map sufficiently. Having them randomly die no matter how awesome they are compared to the puny map just doesn't make sense.

It's bugged or the % chance should lower. It makes no sense that in afk town you have to return to it to click "assign" worker basically any time you run a set of maps.

Heheh, After tried everything about mappers I came to run only one team of random mappers: enyone can do, they just run T1-T4 maps, cheap staff whom I not worry to drop. They regularily die, no big deal, any cheap recruit works! Lvl2 mappers, 3, 5.. doesnt matter! They do stuff on maps what I dont do, like harvest, and bring me lifeforce, some scarabs, some uniqs to disenchant, they run maps (like Cells), that I newer go into after getting atlas points from..

I've only started with map runners, got a bunch of rnk 5 mappers... threw in a bunch of t5 corrupted rares, they die.
t10 whites, they die. I'd expect that with higher rank mappers, they'd have more success. But if these low rank people can't even do white maps, that's a deterrent especially when they're not even expected to bring back literally anything of value on low tier maps. | |
Since days i'm trying to consume my 500-600 T16 with 2 teams, they die sometimes... But it's not often, "1%" is definitely for the whole team.
I wasted alot of gold to roll several level 10 and 9 mappers, plus a few spare of level 8s. Maybe the 1% value is rounded (down?) on screen but it can be 1.1 or 1.9 in real internal calculations, no idea, must ask to developpers. This said I also wasted alot to find good farmers (9 & 10): these are hard to get too, maybe even harder than mappers. |
