T17 once again are ruining this league can GGG just discard t17 concept?

This. I wouldn't mind T18's and T19's that eventually reach true Uber levels of build/skill checks and possibly beyond.
That's right, why not make a kind of hole where you climb lvl infinitely, then you kill thousands of elites for nothing since the drop only happens on the last boss... The streamer only memes and tencent memes are getting kinda old by now.
If anything more higher tier maps would slowly close the gap between the current player power that we have thanks to years of more and more layered power creep without any real adjustments to content difficulty of the core game.

What we currently have is already similar to D3 with the endless stacking of player power with each new league.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Fomo much? God forbid there's entirely optional but engaging and difficult content in my 1-button screen-blows-up-arpg.

Forever games sound like such an alluring idea on paper.
However, Endless grinding farming games is such a very boring idea in practice.

It would be great if that "entirely optional content" remained entirely optional but chances are that ain't happening. Just look at what happened to ubers. They have their own droppool now and basically all the relevant drops were moved from the pinnacle boss to it's uber version. They aren't really optional any more.

Personally i'd also appreciate more tough content but it's highly likely that it will just end up being the new baseline. Endgame at this point is essentially t17 + ubers the rest is tutorial.

Best idea would probably be to introduce scarabs that upgrade map tiers. No effect on quant or rarity, just stronger monsters. That would be proper "optional" content. Almost same rewards but higher difficulty. There would still be some reward for it in that you can aquire higher Ilevel bases but i think that much should be fine.

I think you misunderstand the term "optional". It doesn't have anything to do with whether you have FOMO or not.

Campaign: not optional. all players must complete in order to engage in the rest of the game.

Difficult but rewarding content: optional. players can push their builds/time investment, and profit accordingly, or not.

Ubers are still entirely optional. Just because there are drop restricted items doesn't make them mandatory. (I've done less than 10 uber fights this league, and have not felt a loss in profit or enjoyment)

Your idea to make harder content without rewards is absurd. No one would engage with that.

Suggestions:

1. Do some self reflection and figure out why it bothers you so much that people who have more time to invest or interest in the game get to have more expensive items.

2. Swap builds if you arent able to do what you want with your current build. Yes, POE has amazing build diversity, but that doesnt mean every one of them can farm the hardest content. That's like building a cool art house out of salvaged scrap and then getting upset when a storm knocks it over.

Yeeah these maps need to either get deleted or made actually optional, they're ruining the economy and only the top 0.1% get to print mirrors while everyone else is stuck farming less currency and less gold in t16s. It's ridiculous that you need a build with mageblood,nimis and who knows how many other items that cost even more divines just to do all the best juicing strats in t17s. This is unacceptable and should never exist in the game.

And there is 0 skill involved in doing these maps lol
All you do is make a mageblood character with max suppression(trickster ofc) max block max 90 res every defensive layer imaginable in the game so you can facetank and ignore all mechanics and be CI to ignore 90% of map mods too. Get some other rolls on your mageblood flasks to also ignore other map mods, get corruption implicits on jewels, get specific watcher's eyes to ignore even more map mods. The insane amount of currency you need to spend is way too high.
Being tanky enough to facetank every mechanic=/=skill.


These maps are not difficult, never were. This isn't difficulty, its just overtuned content designed for streamers and top 0.1% people that have 10 mirrors in their stash. Everyone else? Well they don't get to have fun in this game apparently.


So +1 to the OP, the game was better before they made whatever mess these maps are. The keystones on the atlas tree for uber bosses were infinitely better than 5 fragments skewing the prices of the normal invitations.
