I was struggling to design a good monster (I discussed ideas with the devs when I was over there, and I think some of my ideas eventually ended up in act 6 since I wanted to make Shavronne's Monstrosity in a side area of act 1), and I was at the museum when I saw a skeletal koala. That was the precise moment when I realised how I'd leave my mark on a New Zealand-made game: by putting the official Australian animal in it: the drop bear.

ggg needs to follow up and make a skeletal version.

talking about that i have an idea for ggg.

zombie drop bear skin for zombies.

it pairs up very well with the transfigured summon falling zombie gem they have now in the game.

I always thought selling monster skins would be a huge money maker. For example: mechanical skins for the arachnophobes out there. Niche accessibility monetised!

i would see that as more of an accessibility feature which would be nice if ggg included by default.

and if we're going there, i d really like it if poe2 had a "less violence/gore" toggle.

poe2 is going to be more new player friendly so might as well capitalize on that. if we have that option, more people might actually start playing poe.

talkative tri's wife played poe2 with him and this is actually her suggestion when he asked her "if she were a dev, what would she change/add to poe2".

her reasoning is she cant stand the excess gore and blood poe2 has and has to mentally block out the imagery

I would bet a small share of my yet-existent wealth that less gore will be an option. I would like to think the genre has evolved past edgy imagery as a defining feature. It's nice as an element and certainly adds flavour, but it's not exactly Mortal Kombat, is it? The gameplay isn't hinging on creative, graphic ways of dealing personal damage to your enemies. It's mostly fairly symbolic, abstract representations of violence.

I don't see a GGG dev arguing 'but blood and gore is integral to enjoying our well-made ARPG'. Ever.

And sure, it's an immersion thing. But we kind of kissed goodbye to that the moment they introduced kiwis with built-in satellite beam effects.

Not having high hopes into it but let's see if PoE 2 changes the way how leagues work or leagues in general.

Currently new content (aka league mechanics) only drops in temp leagues first but maybe it changes so it's available for all leagues (including standard) when a new major patch drops.

Temp leagues would still have a reason to exist since it's a fresh economy/ladder reset and racers would have their piece of content. Also the usual notifications of entering new zones/boss arenas for the extra cucumber moment and unlocking challenges for free MTX.
