Reminder: Selectable Character Gender is a "Minimum Bar."

Also lol @ "copies sold don't matter". Quite the business acumen.

Did the amount of sold copies helped them to keep the amount of players they had during beta/early access or release? Did it matter in any way for them to improve their already terrible product? Certainly not in both cases but it's also no shocking surprise giving that the game is just a mere cash grab, so a win for the company more or less with little gain for most of the player base who did quit or even went out of their way to get a refund. Lol

I'm not sure I understand your point, if there is one. All buy to play AAA game are monetized like this. Which is still the majority of IP's out there. Are they all "cash grabs"? At least D4 is a GaaS.

I get that you didn't like it, or feel like the product is awful, but that's truly beside the overall point here. I see you didn't mention my comment about the expansion, because if it does well it takes your entire premise and tosses it in the trash. Lol indeed.

Also while we are here, ideally you should be able to change your entire appearence not just the gender. But that might be asking too much.

Sure you can already do that.

Big if, but it'll be just milking the cheap money cow for the second or third round.
Previous products of them have proved that more than once and it's actually quite sad to see that some people still thing that blizzard is out there to make successful and good games. It's just as delusional as thinking that a expansion is going to fix the game, at the very least it adds some content which should have been in the game since release lol.
But even with a big news post of blizzard telling everyone how they sold millions of copies of their new sick expansion active player numbers will still reflect the quality of the expansion. And yes barely 200k active players across all platforms is in fact sad giving that they did sold a few million copies.
About 2% still play the terrible game, no surprise with how bad D4 is hoho
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

I totally agree, every class should be able to be both male and female. I'm only playing POE 2 if Witch and Sorceress have male options otherwise I'm skipping the game.

Why is it such a major inconvenience that you will refuse to play the next best arpg (free to play) over this ?

Because I value the RPG part a lot and like to create the characters the way I want to roleplay as (in my case male mages usually). So if I can't be that I'm not playing it. I get that POE players care more about the combat mechanics but being able to choose gender should be possible, it also makes sense business wise because they could add appearance/gender change MTX like Blizzard does with WoW and everyone would win.

The 'QUALITY" is such a bland, meaningless statement. You dont like the game? Fine, but you cant say that game that sells milions of copies is bad. It is for a lot of people what they are looking for. The game is not good or bad because you feel like that, its is good or bad based on how well it fits its target audience. D4 is not a game for no lifes, its casual. If you play more than 30-40h a week its most likely not for you, thats all there is to it. More people than you think play this kind of games just for the story, or just a bit. In the end it doesnt matter how many will keep playing as long as they come back for next expansion. If they do that will mean the game was good enough. It is a game for casuals, PoE players have not place in it, its just not for them.

By your todays standards Blizzard never made good games. I tried to play D2, never did in the past and i can 100% say that D3 and D4 are vastly superior to it by any metric you can think of. Yet it is hailed here as this golden standard when in reality its boring as hell. Try holding it to the same standards you do for any other ARPG, it will be bottom tier.

This post is not about gender not sex. So, some of the characteristics of both genders being able to be applied to whatever base sex-model like in BG3. Big dick, a beard and broad shoulders with a woman's voice, etc. Some people love that shit and a side effect is some hilarious combinations that we get to see. Others just want to see themselves in the game they're playing and that's a great thing for a company to be able to accommodate. I agree that I would like to have a sex-selection for each class. I don't expect GGG to aim for the progressive accolades BG3 got though.

BG3 received massive criticism for having attractive female character models. So, even though they had the most progressive character creation and some of the most progressive dialogue and romance options of any game every made, the hardcore leftists were still foaming at the mouth that it wasn't enough. As soon as GGG goes down that road, people who lament critical gender theory not being the focal point of the Dev team, will never stop. This is where the whole chud line of "get woke go broke" stems from.

I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.
People making suggestions to improve the game should never stop. There will always be things that could be done to improve it further.

This doesn't need to turn into a political debate, I just want to play as a male Witch, that's it.
