Last best league in your opinion?
Ancestors was my fave, hands down. I also loved harb, ritual, heist, blight, an oldie but a goodie here: legacy. Easier to list the ones I did not like tho.
Censored.

Idk about last best league but synthesis was great. The music was second to none.
Delirium was also great minus the timer. Heist is probably the honorable mention. League was a shitshow but something about it was fun. Maybe because it was different. Least favorite in the past few years was probably metamorph. People loved this league for whatever reason but every hc player I knew saw this mechanic as another way to summon your death.. | |
I'm far less focussed on the actual League and more concerned with the version and state of the game.
3.10 (I can't even remember what league that was) is the last time I really enjoyed the game and felt that it was genuinely accessible to the average player. After that the Devs introduced "The Vision" *tm and it's been nothing but downhill from there. One step forward and two steps backward as we're exposed to a never ending series of behavioural experiments for their beloved 2.0 I've been playing standard SSF for the last few leagues because I dislike so much of what the game is right now and haven't really liked the temporary busywork. Have recently tried this league and it just highlighted what a god awful mess things are. Completely unnecessary early game difficulty spike, yet another incarnation of Arch-Nemesis applied to the league with dumb combinations of rare monsters (Soul Eater is terrible, Adaptive resistances where the monster can't be killed and just heals itself and so on), the absolute starvation of resources in the base game forcing you into some form of side content, the continually widening gap between the haves and have nots, the unreasonable benefits to parties and cabals that exploit the game, the list just goes on and on. GG are a very long way from what made the game originally great to play. |

affliction was insane best since harvest imo

Ancestor league.

Ancestor if we're going by most recent. While I enjoy most leagues, most league mechanics are either 'Build an item" or "Be in a circle and kill massive waves", Ancestor really bucked it hard, having a real stand alone mechanic that could be played in a few different ways for different builds (hold off and let your minions be aggressive, push deep, switch hit, etc).

OG Harvest ouhhh was bonkers ran around with perfect t-1 mirrur gear :D
Necropolis league G.O.A.T

I loved Ancestor because you could level past 90 doing the mechanic and it was fun when you won.

Sanctum league cause it didn't really introduced insane power creep and it was also a skill check league.
Current leagues atlas changes are nice but that's about it as both crafting and t17 loot is just unnecessary stupidly boosted as fuck to a level that we are already even closer to become Path of Diablo III. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Crucible was best to me if we talking about recent ones.
it was given weapons - their own trees(power creep), channel - kill mobs and go - simple and fast mechanic. Ancestors - i don't like it - some broken builds was abusing it in first weeks getting to ranks 1000-2000, usual builds in 90% cases was looting nothing from it on 200-500 ranks, while at same time spending hours there. Affliction - not a fun of backtracking, and this map 4x sextants/4x Scarabs, 100%+ quanity each map stuff rolling everytime. Wildwood ascendancies was cool - no doubt. Same as That Which was Taken - jewel. Sadge they both gone. Necropolis? Well - dunno, specific niche league with bad balance in first 2 weeks. Last edited by FreshMeat93 on May 24, 2024, 12:49:26 PM
