I was considering the revamped Dark Seer (Life/mana) since it gives a load of life, mana, malediction and the +2 affects all gems including arrogance, brand recall and auras. However, it is lacking in cast speed. As you have mentioned, we shouldn't forgo cast speed. Do you have a % in mind thats good enough to avoid clunkiness? Yes, Dark Seer is definitely on my list just due to how tanky it can make us, AND the +2 QoL!! It's huuuge! But yeah. You -really- don't want to dip below 60% cast speed from all sources. BBoU isn't THAT slow a spell, and if it's your first league playing it, you may find it pretty overperforming just due to its huge coverage anyway. But the essence of the build is to go FAST and BBoU + Shield Charge INTO packs, wiping many packs or screens. BBoU having any less than 50/60% just makes this a little awkward. Past a point, you have enough damage for all content anyway, reaching 80% cast speed will feel so good. (Try it out. Play one map with a Silver flask (onslaught) and one without.
