POE builds are overcomplicated mess.
Please make your characters viewable, so it's a lot easier to pinpoint what could be done better.
Else wise, and like a lot have already said - there's really no need to look at meta builds, just good builds that are super straightforward in its intent but works like a charm "For we are not now that strength, which in old days moved Earth and Heaven. That which we are, we are; one equal strength of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will: to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." - Ulysses, Tennyson

" Exactly! I have to agree fully. For example, Smite, you need to level on a build you don't want to play to basically red maps before you can buy the times you need to make the build work. By then you're near level 90 and now you can start playing what you actually wanted to play.
" At lvl 93 T10 maps you should be just about able to run them with your eyes closed. Best thing you could probably do is post your PoB and ask for help becasue it seems to me you must have one jacked up tree to be having a hard time in a T10 @ lvl 93. On a second note, there is basically two main factions on these forums. One side says the game is always perfect and you should never question anything the devs say as they are infallible. Then the other side is screaming at everything and nothing can make them happy, everything is the end of the world. I got so tired of getting reported for calling out this bad behavior that I mainly just stopped reading these forums and I only look at them now every few months. You can't call out any bad behavior anymore without repercussions from one of these factions. I suggest you keep to Reddit if you want more balanced responses. Are you playing on Standard or a League character? Much of what you say sound like a Standard character. But I get much of what you're saying even if the factions don't. For example I was talking to a streamer the other day and he tried telling me that the latest revamps of Ascendancies made them better. I was wondering what game exactly he was playing. When you look at Saboteur for example the "trap and mine" ascendancy, basically 90% of trap and mine builds are played by other classes. Now nearly all Saboteur builds are Hexblast mines. A spell that you have to turn into a mine. All true mine and trap skills are now played by some other Ascendancy. Then you get people that say, "But there is that one single build that's still played, so they are OK". Seriously, that is what the streamer did, he found a single build and said the Ascendancy changes were OK due to them still playing one popular build.
" That wasn't really the point. Yes, you can pick pretty much every skill in the game and go beat whatever content you want with it IF you have thousands of hours of experience to understand how this convoluted mess of a game works. If a new player did what jdp29 said then he won't make it past act 5. Picking a weapon and a skill and cruise through the game simply isn't happening. POE builds have so many check boxes you need to know off and fix. There is a reason why like 90% of the people, in many cases even veterans with thousands of hours under their belt, don't know how to make their own builds and follow guides. Just try some of the other titles on the market, they are similar in terms of build complexity but WAY more intuitive than POE on pretty much every level. You can just sit down and play without knowing anything and you won't end up wanting to smash you head into a wall. |
|
Reason why a lot of people with thousands of hours under their belt can't make their own builds is because they never try, or don't experiment enough. You don't learn how to paint from visiting an art gallery, though you might find some inspiration

People just like to complain that PoE is not as braindead as Diablo 4. They are upset that this game requires thinking to make own build and thats too much for them. They feel stupid and defeated.
"It work in other ARPGs, why not in PoE?" So PoE should become just another carbon copy of other games instead being own thing? Why would they ever do that, if there are already dozens of those copy-paste games on the market?
There is a lot of "grey" between the "black" D4 and the "white" POE. Pushing complexity to absurd extremes just for complexities sake won't always lead to good results. Being different just for the sake of it also isn't always a good thing. POE could be a vastly better game if GGG cared to take a look at other games every once in a while.

" just to make poe like any others market game so ppl stop playing and other start complain how poe is as any other game and why they dont do anything original :D y good joke.
" Same people who call PoE a D2 clone ask why it's not more like D2. Irony died with them The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" Trade Manifesto " So, basically 90% handicapped by the trade penalty (tons of RNG layers and trashy drop rates) because the rest 10% want to trade like a madmen, abuse TFT, flip-flop, not interact with content? It is like being charged for speeding not even having a car. Nice design! #moderngamedesign2023 Last edited by cursorTarget on Nov 27, 2023, 5:02:16 AM
