POE builds are overcomplicated mess.
" I mean, most rich people do indeed pay less taxes. And you get taxed to subsidize parking for cars even if you dont own a car. I suppose POE just mirrors real life. Last edited by PandaTheMan on Dec 1, 2023, 8:45:23 AM

Anybody who thinks the poe subreddit is terrible, this thread will cure him of that assumption.

" Maybe in your oountry it's regular practice but not in Europe. Even more if you don't cross the threshold of the year income you don't pay tax at all. In PoE things are twisted. And I am not being charged for speeding if I don't speed. I only pay for parking place if I actually use it. |

Stop complaining and go play Diablo

" To play, its not. To be sucessful in this game? Well, thats another story for a lot of people. | |
" The problem is the amount of wasted time and effort. Can you experiment and try new things? Sure but if you don't do it right you're just slamming your face against the wall again and again. And the game doesn't actually favor experimentation much short of playing through the entire campaign on a new character. You can get to the point where the answer to the puzzle is to completely scrap your character and a lot of casuals(Myself included) do not like being told to restart again. Do I want to beat Uber Elder Maven hitless? No, but hitting a wall and told to do it all over again isn't a fun. More so when the community screams about how this or that isn't viable/meta/good. Why bother trying those. Why bother learning at that point; just copy. |

"just copy" is also fine. If you are not good enough get better or copy from those better than you. Dont expect game to get more accessible only because you feel entitled to do everything. This is one of very few games where players knowledge is rewarded more than mechanical skills. PoE is all about learning.

" You forget the second part of that; failing. And in my opinion, the time gap between failing and then being allowed to try again is pretty big. There's also no guarantee that a build you copy you will either like or have it actually be working by a certain time. One of my old characters(one of the deadeyes or maybe I deleted it) was a copy of insert Tornado shot build I came across. Build did not feel very fun, nor was it working. And the short term attempts I made to make the build either feel better or play better I'm sitting here wondering how much I bricked it's "End game" status. Which if it was a couple points out there sure I could get some respecs but if it was like 20+ points off the beaten 'build'? Agh just better off trying a new character to see if I can even beat Kitva without taking advantage of not full HP heal on death. Honestly I don't feel entitled to do "Everything", part of the appeal I have for PoE is that once you get to maps you can do a good number of different content types that may or may not fit your build or prefered style. Honestly I had a lot more fun trying out Heists and Metamorph than I did trying to go for insert Urber boss. It's just being told you failed and have to try again, doing the whole campaign again just to have a chance of seeing maybe THIS time the build will work, possibly several times? Well that's not a feedback loop that works for everyone. "Just use PoB" I have, and I find it to be a confusing mess that feels made for people that already know how to make their builds. Also I tend to learn better by doing rather than reading. PoB can show me how to get 10 million damage(an example, throw your damage number here) if I put in this build but I won't know if it's Fun until I play it. So learn on your own or accept that this game is not for you. Manage your expectations, you wont do everything, hell even i didnt and thats also fine. Pick a skill you like and than find a build guide for it on Youtube, use pob and learn it. You dont need any advenced options realy. Learn what makes the build good and only than try on your own. Thats the kind of game poe is. You can take simple builds like ea champion and do everything except ubers without any issue. The problem is with your mindset, not the game.

Is this game a huge mess now? More than ever.
"I've played a lot of videogames. It's my primary recreational activity. Best games ever: Elden Ring and Diablo 4."
