This has been the most miserable league for years for me

I've never had big drops - not a single one. The biggest thing I think I've ever gotten is an Apothecary card from a stacked deck a few leagues back. What I've experienced this league is something else entirely, and it seems your brother has too.

Would you mind posting a picture of your atlas tree? I'm getting more and more curious.
Unfortunately not been physically able to play much this league on my main machine, so have not explored the league mech much - but hope that I can as things improve

Finally league where casual players who can't live in game can farm currency with 5 div investment to try normal build...

Best league ever IMO

that is basically every league if you get off the established meta and just play other shit that works

I will say my drops have been absolute garbage this league but i've done TOTA and Sanctum enough to prop everything up so its felt OK. Not sure what i'd have done if they weren't available though, Essences maybe? Essences are always such easy currency.

Tota, crucible, are just as bad as the season in D4. I wouldn’t support this low quality effort from either company. What is sad is that players are willing to accept this as the standard. Shame on you.

I don't Tota is rewarding at all. I spent 5hrs each night last few days running it and its easy but pure torture. I got one raw divine and just little currency which is way less than I get from maping with just alch and go.

The people that are pulling a mageblood or mirror are just random lotto winners. This does not happen to 99.99999% of players.

Sanctum is very rewarding but I find it to be torture. I have nothing against Tota or Sanctum. It's not why I play this game though. I enjoy mapping and doing past content but its all unrewarding.

I have 14 days playtime into the league. I mostly map and only had 2 raw divines drop. I play on console. So its not possible to run maps with juice consistently. If you don't farm it you can run it.

Mapping does pay up though because its so unrewarding and few people are running maps Icors, embers, and harvest are in super demand. It goes boring with nothing of good value ever dropping.

I been playing for the last 3 years. I can feel the loot nerfs in mapping. I would say 75% less drops in mapping.

I don't know what has happened to the core game, but I've had no drops over 1 divine the entire league. Everything has been nerfed at my end of the woods (poison).

I don't enjoy the league mechanic and so am not interested in respeccing to Voidsphere just to be able to play efficiently. I'm not interested in Sanctum. Yet the currency from those two mechanics destroyed the game, and hobbled trade. Neither am I interested in no-lifing a ghost busting setup just to take advantage of top end MF - though the modest version of Torment farming I did yielded nothing anyway.

The time and effort required for normal play gives such low reward right now it's not worth playing. That's a huge shame.

See you next league... maybe.

Sanctum was my first Mageblood+ 3 mirrors league. My fav league ever. I do agree with the last part though.
Needing hundreds of essences to hit what you want is freaking stupid. Needing thousands of Gwen rerolls to maybe hit a Mageblood is freaking stupid. The entire game is weighted to give nothing /fail/ low roll and you have to no life the game or its a waste of time. I have a love /hate relationship with PoE.

Shoutout to Inevitable_Spring928's Juggernaut EA Ballistas build. My second fav build ever and its my go to set up without a Mageblood. Sanctum going core allows for Loreweave+ Eternal Damnation setup again and I love it.

But ya, this league is lame. I'm done. See you next league...maybe.

This is quite the discussion and I'll throw my 2cents for what it is worth.

I do not play the league mechanic or Sanctum, it is just not my thing - I like to map and Delve. The base game and the awesome Atlas Passive tree is great and even skipping the $$ things that I don't like to play I am still grinding and really enjoying the base game.

Anyway, maybe I'm getting better but I have made boat loads of currency just playing the game focusing on Ritual, Blight, Delirium and Metamorph. Probably about 100 divines into my character and 400 more sitting in my stash with nothing to spend it on. I probably got 30-50 raw Divine drops (I don't keep track I just know it is a lot).

Anyway, and I don't want to be mean but if you can't rake in the $$ in the current state of the game you need to start watching YouTube videos and up your game. Cheers.
Didn't read every reply, I just want to know one thing from OP:

Are you running Searing Exarch altars, or are you running Eater of Worlds altars?

And please, nobody spoil this before OP has a chance to answer. This could be a powerful learning moment for them and others like them.

Edit: I just noticed going through some of the replies that Scarletsword beat me to it. So here's me giving credit for that, and also saying that if OP actually wants to know why they aren't getting any loot they should absolutely post their Atlas tree.

It's felt pretty good to me this league, Sanctum and TOTA aside. I'm a low investment mapper at best and a slow starter, playing scuffed old meta badly. I've at peak had 107 divines stashed this league, about 5 times previous. Sanctums netted me about 11 div (not a fan, played for challenges), TOTA 6 div total (didn't play much, haven't sold tattoos), the rest was just alch and go T16s and Maven guardians, with a vague plan, changing it up a lot. I've been "farming" on a 20 div build and wasted a lot of time on alts.

I've thrown Vaal orbs at random jewel drops and sold the results for 25c up to 1-2 div. A bunch of random drops for a few chaos each, no sale under 10c. Invitations for 1.x div or higher in bulk. The couple of random Watcher's Eyes I got from getting 4 watchstones sold for 1-6 div. A few lucky divination card drops for low divines. A random synthesised ring from Blight for 8 div, unexpectedly. Maybe 14 div in essences. Someone bought an Agnerod for 25c. Various unique maps for a handful of c. Rolled up a few hundred compasses with sextants for several divines profit. Sold off two aborted builds and made back roughly the purchase cost each time, profited on a boot craft. Levelled a bunch of support gems and sold them. On top of that maybe 5-10 divines dropped raw in maps.

For me this league was more an eye-opener in terms of how much more I can trade whilst still having fun, and what people will pay for. I'm hardly making bank by a lot of people's standards, but more than I used to.
I never bank my success on big ticket items. The odds of you getting raw divine drops or rares worth that much have always been slim to none for me. The OP gives me the impression that's what they're relying on in mapping. Unless you go through the effort of minmax juicing, that's a big mistake.

Try building your atlas passives towards Essences. Those are an evergreen staple for currency. Witnessing maps with Maven has become a lot more profitable thanks to the new keystone, the extra map bosses she spawns all have a chance to drop elder/shaper/conq maps as well as Synthesis. Invest in Blight and tweak your loot filter to show jewelry drops that have gold oil anoints on them so you can try to extract it. Build for Incursion and sell temples with T3 corruption and/or gem rooms. Don't ignore the uber lab trial atlas cluster, you can sometimes get Gift to the Goddess. You can do all of these at once without issue.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.
