POE 2 speed slowed down. Yay or Nay ?

The only reason anyone would want to slow down end game is because they suck at playing end game and wants to bring everyone down to their level, what they dont factor in is that bots will simply run more clients still devaluing the market and burning top level players in the process.

And if it isn't about trade leagues, then it doesn't affect your gameplay at all, so /thread.

Ahhhhhh, classic Boomer Zoomer reply. "You only want endgame to be slower because you fukkin' sukk, don't punish the rest of us for your fukkin' sukkin'!"

Reminder: many/most players in a league are very lucky if they can spend five divines on one build in the entirety of a league. Boomer Zoomer players, people who have five hundred divines by the end of league start weekend, are so rare as to be statistical noise. People that dialed in are a percent of a percent - if there's five thousand of them in the entirety of path of Exile I'd be astonished.

Designing the entire game specifically and solely to cater to Boomer Zoomers at the explicit and deliberate expense of "normal" players is not intelligent for game longevity. By all means, have content you have to work for. But "speed" should not be the determining factor of what's 'Good' and what isn't. Requiring people to fork out a few hundred divines and scale a build to 30M pinnacle DPS before they're allowed to participate in Path of Exile is not conducive to long-term success. Making the game so fast that the developers cannot use "endgame" footage for trailers because the character moves so fast that neither it nor the game behind it animates is beneficial only to RMT speedmonkeys.

The Aggorat and Ngamakanui trailers move at a speed that is fun to watch. You can see what the character is doing, you can see the effects of your abilities, you have to engage with the enemies. You have to play a video game.

The game can move faster than those trailers. But a character with 1200% movement speed and the ability to deal fifteen million damage in three animation-less frames is a character that isn't played. It's a Cookie Clicker nonsense bot with no purpose or function WHATSOEVER beyond generating currency drops as swiftly as possible.

The rest of us would like to play Path of Exile, please. If that means we "suck", so be it. You can trade your five hundred league-start divines with the same three hundred-odd people every league and continue to ignore the game, but the rest of us are gonna cheer when Grinding Gear develops Path of Exile with the rest of us in mind instead of you.

Wrong and wrong again; firstly, my account is older than yours, secondly, I have exactly 0 level 100's. You want to remove the deep end of the pool so everyone is in the shallow end with you splashing, unlike you I do enjoy the fact that I can play the game as I please and in the manner i see fit.

The game is not balanced around zoomers and meta, nor should it be.

furthermore PoE has continuously gained popularity since it's launch, so longevity after 10 years what more do you want? an explosion of hype like d4 to be dead in 2 years?

So that's what this was about? You could have just gone there sooner and saved time.

What are you even talking about? The point was that zooming gameplay is just one of many ways to play poe, which is what makes it such a great game, the d4 comparison is just the inevitable result of them making the choice to have a game an ocean wide and a puddle deep, beautiful great cinematics, and one singular linear way to play an arpg, the exact same flaw that plagued d3.

this argument is wether a game is fun depends on its graphics and streamable content or on its actual gameplay, of which I and I'm sure most PoE players actually enjoy playing the game rather than having the cleanest animations.

To hear Boomer Zoomers play it, any decision from Grinding Gear that has even the slightest impact on Boomer Zoomer gameplay and the ability to clear a 100% Delirious Beyond Scarab'd Sextant'd triple-Influenced 8-mod T16 Pinnacle Guardian map in twenty seconds or less - including defeating the guardian at the end - is a decision that will End Path of Exile Forever. They are all on record as believing that there's exactly two ways to play Path of Exile - their way, or the lolterrible shitter skrublord way. This despite, again, there being perhaps five thousand such Boomer Zoomer turbosweats at the absolute upper maximum. I'd honestly sooner believe there's less than a thousand players who routinely reach such heights of skip-the-whole-game speed.

Ever play a Devil May Cry game, by chance? I know, not an ARPG, but it is an action game, and generally one of the highest-lauded such games out there. Playing DMC is an absolute blast. A spectacle of intense action, leaping between demonic hellbeasts in a flurry of blade, bullet, and badassery. Watching high-level DMC players work is like watching a magic show - you can't fathom how their fingers can possibly be moving in the ways necessary to produce those elaborate, outlandish, and utterly incredible strings of maneuvers. Watching those players do their thing is a delight because even though you cannot possibly match up to them, you can see what they're doing, follow their actions, and enjoy the display of total mastery they offer.

Now. Imagine that instead of all this, the next DMC game had an option to increase the speed of the game's animations by a factor of twenty. The characters moved so fast that they became completely uncontrollable. You couldn't even see what they were doing, because the "movements" were so fast the game didn't bother triggering even accelerated animations - they just picked a few arbitrary frames of those animations, flashed them in a quarter-second slide show, and then positioned the character at the end of the input string.

Imagine in turn that about twelve people found a way to play at this speed and enjoy it, posting videos about them clearing a DMC level in less than twenty seconds and bragging about their supreme, unbeatable skill at the game.

Imagine in turn once more that the DMC franchise's developers decided to listen solely and exclusively to those twelve people for all future player feedback and input, completely ignoring the millions of other people who play Devil May Cry and can't figure out what in the actual hell the devs are smoking with this insane, unmanageable speed of "play". And those twelve people posting videos of a twenty-second display of utterly chaotic random lights and noise that no human eye can properly track claim this is absolutely perfect and anyonme who can't keep up with their play, their style, their methods, and their meta is an absolute trash-tier garbo loser who should uninstall and let real players have their bandwidth.

That's what Boomer Zoomer PoE players are constantly attempting to do. Build a Path of Exile that no one else can play, no one else can even watch, and which exists solely to sate their need for absolutely maximizing drops per minute.

Can you imagine why maybe the rest of us would like the Boomer Zoomers to give it a goddamn rest already?

Nothing "plagued D3" or is "plaguing D4". That's a bias opinion, that isn't based on facts. Many millions of people have enjoyed D3 over 10 years, and are currently enjoying D4. This isn't problematic in the least. D4 will not be "dead in 2 years" lol.

It's quite simply a different gaming experience for a different set of players. Neither game should try and deviate to be the other, which should be the overriding point.

I personally don't like the zooming, spam, screen clutter nightmare PoE has become, nor its absurdly high time investment requirements, but you cannot argue with the results. PoE has just done just fine for itself with this meta.

Nah the fast pace is better, it allows for more dynamic gameplay with more skill expression.

Aside from just throwing out buzzwords, this is straight out wrong.

Slow pace can have just as dynamic gameplay as well as skill expression, if not more. Then you have to actually analyze enemies instead of just zoomzoomzoom through them lol

Not that I LIKE the slow pace of D4...but your reasoning is just false

I hope it goes back to zooming in the lategame.
I like how it currently is, slow at first but once you get enough investment you can zoom as much as you want.
