" Is that a lie? I suggested dozens of creative changes to small things and fundamental things. I've seen others come up with incredibly smart things. Have you read this? I don't think. I'm somewhat glad that my proposed league concepts and the Synthesis rework found their way into Memories, Kalandra Lake, Delirium, Expedition, and Maven. (in descending order of similarity) But why are you so stubborn? I tell you for the thousandth time - that players are divided into 2 camps: casual (for which PoE is a slasher with endless mobs and loot explosions) and hardcore (for which PoE is a difficult game that provides new difficulties and challenges every league) Just. Split. The. Game. It's not difficult, I'm sure your programmers will manage to create a parallel league with constant modifiers, like private leagues, but with different mods. This won't make league development any more difficult as all bonuses will be applied globally (no need to create another game). This is the most elegant solution to the problem. You don't have to be torn between making the game friendly and challenging. People are not interested in fighting one rare monster that is 200% faster stronger and fatter than the boss of this map. Trite because this "battle tactic" does not work in reality. You can't encounter a Rare monster with a Prismatic mod and spawn your build with a new element every 4 seconds. No. You wait 16 seconds for the cycle to end and you can deal damage again. You can't meet a Rare monster with Soul Eater + Hasted and not kill the normal mobs next to it so that it doesn't "puff up". It's a huge problem that Rare monsters can have massive damage or nasty mechanics that don't let you fight them for long. Either kill in 2 hits or run away. But you don't listen to the players, you listen to the top streamers who beat endgame in 2 days and say "it's easy for them". The fact that 70% of builds are unplayable beyond acts, 28% will not be able to kill uber bosses, and only 2% have broken mechanics that allow them to overclock 50+kk dps is not important. We change Rare Mobs. The fact that 50% of Keystones and 30% of Notables are ineffective and not used is not important. We change the loot. The fact that Unique weapons have 2-5 times less dps than the 5s eledps version of the rare item doesn't matter. We removed Harvest. Even the simplest QoL fixes that can be done in a day, and immediately roll out the patch. It doesn't matter. We make the game harder. The section of the forum with Feedback and Suggestions is just a "lingering box" (A mailbox where letters with wishes are stored. They can be read and implemented today, or maybe in 50 years). By submitting your ideas there, you don't know, read your message, what they think about your ideas, and how long you have to wait. Just be surprised that a patch comes out again that goes against the desire of the players to have fun. I do not support the tendency to insult developers for their mistakes. Hey nice mea-culpa and explanation.
Starting to enjoy this league now that the mechanic pays off. I've really enjoy the past few leagues as GGG have been evolving from the original game. I wish the Archnemesis units interaction with default buffs was easier to detect at times. i.e. Hard to check what Archnemesis mods are in effect with a hasted mod applied. Looking forward to future leagues. The new economy has been cause for much emoji popcorn consumption ;) |

Great post, lots of good stuff.
Unfortunately the band wagon is rolling way to hard for most people to read through this. Even if they do they will be to affected by the general "im-so-mad" content creator to comprehend what they are actually reading. So its easier to just repeat the same old "dont lie to us, you are ruining our game" schtick. Sad, really... Love the game, like some of the overarching ideas, but the implementation clearly needs some iterations, hopefully it gets smoother over time. |

I have read the post and it looks fantastic but only on a paper. In reality it doesn't work at all ( I'm solo player ) My main problems so far are: - arch mods - dead harvest 1) Arch monsters sometimes almost immortal and the worst thing that you cannot ran away from them, you cannot skip this content or ban it using the atlas tree. 2) Harvest doesn't have all crafting mods from 3.18: For instance: keep suffixes and reroll prefixes. Additionally you added NEW dead modes like "Gain life on monster kill" and this is nerf as well, because in the mod pull we have additional dead/useless mod. I don't believe that there is a person who selects 14 Life on kill (T1) instead of 79 HP (T1) on a ring. Please, GGG at least return all harvest craft and nerf ALL monsters with arch mods(you are very good in this) or give the possibility to ban this content (and you will be able to gather nice statistic how many players like this) I like this game so much but I'm very disappointed after all your nerfs and nerfs, and other game(fun) destroying changes... |

Nah iam think iam really out -.-. AN is just not fun for me and as someone metioned here i would love way more to see/feel that 30 people get 1 divine, than for 1 person get 30 Divines
U mentioned nothing about Harvest/Crafting... why must be Crafting a complete Gamble? Why did you deleted a many "Filler Crafts" although they clearly weren't and were popular in the community. Its just not fun! Sure it can be fun in some cases, but doesnt we have Double Corrupt for that feeling some of us need/want? The Divine/Exalted Swap feels just awefull, i can understand the reson behind that and its cool that a well rolled Uniqe is worth something but the implementation just feels wrong. Beside that the well loved Exalted Orb is now just worthless and is rotting in the Mud. To manny and critical changes at Once! Sadly as already metnioned iam out and will uninstall it its more like a breakup... i hope its just only for this league but i have the feeling that the next league wont be better for my personal taste. We DO NOT LIKE ARCHNEMESIS changes at all! Fighting single strong rare on a map is not what we are looking for. If we want difficult challenge we go and try UBER BOSSES. Mapping contetnt should be balanced arround BLASTING MOBS(thats the FUN).
And still no comments about destroying craft system by nerfing harvest. |

I used to think D4 would be dead on arrival.
Now I realize there is an entire community primed and ready to hop right in. GGG just will not listen to 6 full patches of despair from an enormous portion of the community. 3.13 is talked about for a reason, maybe you should rethink what makes the game fun. |

We don't have the option to "opt in" to archnemesis. The baseline of your philosophy is wrong. Instead of being a smooth scale into more difficult content like we used to have, the game starts off brutal and just gets even more brutal when you hit red maps. Previously we could run maps, then slowly start adding scarabs, then delirium etc. This is opting into difficulty and increasing rewards. Now we just get hammered by AN monsters that take minutes to kill. You state that you want this to feel more interactive, but getting one shot is not interactive. On top of this there is no reason to do the difficult league content as it is extremely unrewarding. Please don't balance your game around the top 1% It seems that you've lost touch with the majority of the playerbase who cannot play for 5 or more hours per day. For those of us who can only play a couple hours a night this level of loot and reduction to player power has made playing the league a complete waste of time. I love PoE. I support attempts to improve it. But please listen to the players like you used to do. This list of game philosophies is so tone deaf to what we as players are crying out for. "Fewer, more difficult rare monsters help you pay attention to what is happening, assess it, and act accordingly. It gives you an opportunity to employ counterplay and for your playskill to actually matter (rather than relying on pure character power). It is also a lot cleaner and far better for performance" This literally never happens in practice. I've had to just run away from so many AN mobs or sit there and fight them for 3 mins. If they have 2 dmg mods I'm dead before I can blink. "I also overstated the impact of the change when communicating about it in this post. I said "we removed a massive historic bonus", and this caused the community to think the impact was larger than it was. The reason why I used the word "massive" was that the numbers sound big when viewed in isolation, but are less impactful when viewed in context. For example, the rarity bonus that was removed from a Red Beast was 750%. This sounds big, but a four-mod Archnemesis rare has a 41000% bonus. Players have been saying we reduced drops by 90% but in reality, that type of difference could only be true in the most extreme situations involving Beyond, Delirium and Incursion stacked with party quantity, rarity, sextants and scarabs and a dedicated MF culler (peak efficiency of every juice mechanism that exists). Every other player is unaffected on average. For example when playing Breach, the reduction in currency items found is around 7% (when comparing 3.19.0d to 3.18.1f). In 100% Delirium maps, the difference hits 17%. In Incursion and regular non-league content, you'll find 25% more." This part couldn't be more inaccurate. I've been playing nearly every league since Talisman. I have never ever felt so bad about mapping as this league. Not even close. I am in red maps with 6 alcs and 3 vaal orbs. Even chiseled, vaal'd and scarabed maps drop such small amounts of loot that I'm better off running low tier white maps for essences. I truly hope the game improves, but in it's current state I quit. If it keeps going this way it's been fun but I will not be back. I can speak for all but one member of my guild too who are quitting. Good luck to all those enjoying this. I mean if you go to Twitch and see streams doing content that isn't really that affected by the loot change. Because much of it is from chests. There is a good reason. As it is (at this point) still rewarding.
As a long terms player and watching Twitch, I'm just confused tbh. |
