yes they killed it dead , i was planning to start with it , but they basically halved its work so now its gona be sooo slow and unplayable
It's just irritating to gem swap for lmp,GMP for map clear and also it's harder to league start as +1 totem shaper shield would not be immediately accessible.with removal of prophecy the availability of atzri reflection is also another thing to consider. soul mantle drops really frequently and in ssf would be ideal before shaper shield. I don't think it's dead but it's probably not as smooth as before.

Do multiple projectiles matter for bosses? I don't remember them stacking damage on top of each other.
The loss of +1 totem looks bad, but that just means that instead of using Atziri Reflection you'll have to get a +1 totems shaper shield and get curse immunity from other source. Many Soul Mantle builds use Atziri Reflection and had the same 4 totems.[/quote]
No one tell them Archmage is kind of sort of buffed. They'll determine it's too much fun and kill it again.

Do tell them Void Fletcher is only good with corrupted implicits.

GGG hates autobobmer walk simulators. These Herald of Thunder Fire burst builds were a joke when they introduced it.

Start with Holy Flame Totems then. It's good and got buffed in patchnotes. Built-in projectile penetration, 3 projectiles, does not require Soul Mantle at all and most of the gear you need to run up to red maps is cheap as hell. You can check my profile, I played HFT every league even as GGG nerfed it and still killed A9 sirus and Maven with it.

Not gonna try to figure out the math, but there's also the lack of extra totem on Soul Mantle. 5 totems was usual, so that's a 20% loss there, if you were a 4 totem build, you're now down to 3 so 25% loss. Then there's having to use GMP in a slot, meaning you're taking the loss from that but also not getting the increase from whatever gem you're replacing. That's probably a 50% loss from that.

Two points:

1) The Supreme Ego rule change is genius.

2) I will be playing Death Wish in 3.17.

Also, if I could make a special request, Chris- could you tweak the Death Wish sound effect so that it sounds like an imploding star instead of a dull fart? It would bring the skill in a lot more alignment with reality.
